In the cool porcelain surround I find comfort there
Mr Bingley's recent post of attractive banner loco QJ 6978 had me dig up this picture taken a month later on the Daban to Chabuga section of the JiTong line in 2005.
Within that month, the temperatures have risen considerably in the dry deserty area between between Dariqiga and Chaganhada as the loco makes a brief squirt uphill with its unusually single headed train.
With steam having recently ended on the better-known JingPeng Pass (Haloukou- Daban section), the best of their QJs cascaded onto this section, allowing most trains to be double headed and trains lengthened.

142 and a wake up to go. That's all that's left for me and Gloria. That's the nickname I gave my machine gun by the way. It's saved my life more times than I could count you know? I think we should name our daughter that when she's born. The first Gloria saved my life with lead, and she'll save me with love. Big Red got zapped the other day. Second platoon got ambushed by the old riverbed I told you about and we went to bail them out. He ran straight into a tripwire, Ernie took some shrapnel from it too but he'll be fine. We have a lot of time between patrols these days, but God damn I can't wait to be out of this heat. I think we should move to Canada when I'm finally out. Two tours in this heat and 110 percent humidity is more than enough for a lifetime. I hear they have excellent healthcare up there. I don't want our daughter to have to live in a country always at war. Where her husband or son could die for a cause nobody believes in. I can't wait for your next letter, I hope everything is well!

I've spent 2 months in Singapore in 2016 and 2017 respectively, but I still haven't tried the cable cars! Here's at least a shot I grabbed while meandering on Mount Faber.
I miss the fall! And now im supposed to be shopping for Christmas presents....how did this happen?!??!

Sterławki Małe, May 9, 2014. SU45-116 runs the TLK 45108 "Pojezierze" train from Katowice to Gdynia Główna. The last months of regular service of "fiats" at InterCity and the last months of operation of this unit (it suffered a serious failure in July 2014, after which it wasn't operating ever).
"Fiat" is SP45/SU45's nickname originates from the diesel engine manufacturer for the first prototypes and (later) licensor for national production of the engines.

I tried a new hairstyle a month ago and I don't like it. I will be changing it soon but my current style goes on record as being the only hairstyle I haven't documented on camera in at least 5 years.

1984 was the final summer for the Class 46's, all had gone by the end of November
46 010 was the only class member I saw that day, working 1E22, the 10:04 Newquay - Newcastle seen passing Langstone Rock. She only made it as far as Gloucester though, being replaced by 45 150 after suffering a failed turbo
Although not officially withdrawn until 4th November, 46 010 only had a couple of months or so left in service, not turning a wheel in anger after 20th August
Happily 46 010 is now preserved and looking superb since restoration was completed in 2019
although it's been many months since my DD has been in the house, i just discovered this ducky yesterday, hiding in the shadows of the faux ivy topiary. so now we are at 365 duckies.

this was a very impromptu photo, i saw the light was getting to be that very blue dusk and i wanted to catch the last moments of light so i ran out, i saw this space and bam an idea came into my mind. it was perfect because it's been a feeling that i've been dealing with for a few months now, about feeling stuck in life, not knowing where i'm going next and feeling like i'm going to die just stuck in this state. so this is a pretty personal photo for me <3

LNER L1 2-6-4T 67785 stands light engine in the centre road at the Northern side of Nottingham Victoria station. This loco was another L1 withdrawal from Colwick (40E) at the end of 1962 after less than 12 years in service and after only a one month stay at this depot following reallocation from Grantham.
5 months, 20 weeks, 140 days, 3360 hours, 20,1600 minutes, 12,096,000 seconds I have carried you inside me, and I have loved you since the day I found out a life was growing inside me.

Around here, the first days of April didn't look much different than January. In fact, there was no view of this ridge on April 1 & 2, due to white-out snowstorms & fog. The snow didn't much accumulate, but the view was utterly impeded.
Just one month left to prepare!
