I'm not really a hot weather person. It's five more months until October when the sticky, hot, buggy, humid days will be gone. I am over the warmer weather already. I don't want to mow the lawn or garden or swat bugs or sweat anymore. I'd rather shovel snow and take long walks with the dogs. Come on winter.

Breast cancer death rates declined 40% from 1989

June is Pride Month in the UK. Here we are in 2022 and all around the world people are still bullied, harassed, dismissed, discriminated against, hurt and killed simply for who they love.
We should be free to love irrespective of race, religion, gender and gender identity. We are all human. Just one species sharing a single magical oasis in the vastness of space. It is long overdue that we treated each other with humanity and compassion.
Stay safe my Flickr friends.

Another Tuesday morning run to Pueblo for the Rock & Rail almost two months to the day since my last visit, and what a difference some rain...or a lot of rain...makes. The train is seen here rounding the curve at Goodnight siding. Unfortunately, the crew will return to Portland light power, thus ending my excursion on the Rock & Rail for today.

MTM announced this week at SDP40 325 and GN coach 1096 were being shipped to Albia Iowa in the coming weeks for repaints.
A massive private donation is seeing that both 325 and 1096 are repainted in Great Northern orange and green.
The 325 wore the simplified orange scheme for the first few years of her existence. seen here:
www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=114373
Both will return to the roundhouse in time for the 2023 operating season, so I've heard.
Being with the "big leagues" I've mostly fallen out of touch with MTM but maintain a few connections.
Fundraisers to repaint it Big Sky Blue (plan A) were deemed not successful, and the museum is giving the option of refund, reallocation, or hold for future 325 cosmetics.
Seen here are 325 & 1096 at Osceola in October 2018, when I made my last run as a volunteer.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product in a few months.
Honestly, with the chaos that is MTM the past year, I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell it would happen. But, money talks and the money wanted orange, even though I, along with many others, was rooting for blue.
6 months ago, my soulmate made me an honest man and walked down the aisle toward me.
Each day since she has filled my days with joy, happiness, life, creativity and beauty.|

There is nothing in this world that I wouldn't do for you baby. I love you to death my lobster, my love.
The snow here probably melted out the day before, and I'm not joking. The trail that I was on was more snow than clear and yet where the sun hits the most everything is fighting to thrive as though the vegetation knows it has three months before it is buried again. (the record snowfall here was just over 93 feet) that's not a typo....A week from now the entire meadow will be flourishing and then you might have an extra week before they flag. Bear will be feasting on berries, there is already dear tracks in the snow, everything is in a hurry here except me, photo op every ten feet. :)
January is a reminder that the Winter season is long. Somehow I think that the “Winter Months” seem longer than any of the other months of the year. The snow and the wind can be very taxing when wanting to take a walk. Talking photos can be a chore but still we do it. Gratitude and Kindness know no calendar as they’re always present.
"Wan, wind-wracked month, of all the months most bare
Of outward beauty or of inward grace..."
- Mary Barker Dodge
“Even though February was the shortest month of the year, sometimes it seemed like the longest.”

As I cycle further up Glen Lochsie before making the real climb to the summit of Glas Tulaichean, this small burn (or stream) tumbles its way through the heather. But time is ticking and in these winter months daylight hours are limited so let's push on.
Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.
