Long exposure under the pier.

Another wet and grey day today

But no more snow than the little that came and went a few weeks ago

Nice evening March 12th.....and so few people.

Have a great day my friends!

Known for the brightly painted houses, this is not your normal view of Burano, but the bright sunlight makes for some great mono contrasts...

HSS!

Just couldn't let this one go without a mono conversion, with the great light on the original, its not turned out too bad.

My entry in this months competition on clouds.

A time when I wish I had my SLR with me as I I still need to get to grips with some editing without using a raw image.

In the end I decided to convert to mono as I wasn't sure how to find a way of lightening my very dark areas .

This image is of a quarry lake on Bodmin moor .

Thank you for viewing and any comments.

A good morning at Mono Lake.

Mono of a borage flower

A rare (very rare indeed) mono landscape image from me. About 40% of my street images end up black and white but I hardly ever convert my countryside shots in this style. Something about the natural contrast with this shot influenced my decision.

Mono Hot Springs is a unique area in the high Sierras. There are natural hot springs along the mountainside next to the San Joaquin River in this area. The resort has tapped into these springs and they have a spring water pool that you can enjoy.

The rope that you see in the picture is used by people that want to cross the river and explore the natural hot springs. When I was younger I hiked up the mountainside and explored the hot springs. There are quite a few of them on the mountain that you can sit in and enjoy the hot water. I will also say that the fishing is pretty good here for trout also. I caught 10 of them over a couple of days. This is a great place to explore if you get into the area.

Nature reclaims land after an apocalyptic event...

Early morning light at Mono Lake, California.

As I was changing locations along the shoreline at Mono Lake, the sky started to get some color in the clouds. The color never did get any better as the sun went down. I was able to set up the tripod and get a few pictures of this composition as the sun set. As you can see, I wasn't the only one enjoying the view. The photographer in the foreground gives you a scale to compare the height of the tufas.
