I shot over 200 videos of this ugliest garbage dump in Bandra and the plight of the municipal conservancy staff who work here in poor conditions no safety shoes no gloves masks or head gear.
But they don't complain or whine but always thank me for highlighting their problems on You Tube.
Nobody cares for them.

He sits at the corner of De Monte Street beyond where he sits is the Bandra Jain Mandir road and further ahead Haji Nura lane with Marwari jeweller shops and predominantly Muslim area.
I know Poonam as I stayed for many years at De Monte Street..
Poonam is a very quiet guy from the Dalit community of Shee Babasaheb Ambedkar.
He does his work on this roadside kiosk and leaves by 8 pm.
I love shooting cobblers and their skilled hands.. They can repair shoes suitcases bags and umbrellas.
I have in all these years never seen a Dalit leader meeting these cobblers who are their trusted vote bank.
The Dalits leader too starts from scratch but once he enters politics he becomes a very rich man.
While the Dalit cobbler still sits in the same corner for years.. There is no change in his life or status.
This is the tragedy of our Democracy..
But is there any option and people are scared of constitutional dictatorship within the ambit of Democracy.
I am apolitical but I vote..
I have of late voted for Congress Free Bandra.
Our former Bandra leaders were not much for middle class or educated Muslims they had a soft corner for the slum dwellers and their agents saw that they got the votes.
But Modiji changed the entire voting pattern of Bandra.
But those that want change in their lives the Dalits and the Muslim Christian Maratha others.. It seems a very long wait as of now.

I was shocked that he began shouting at me for taking this picture of the garbage bin on the road obstructing traffic and he was drunk , grumbling about the Municipality making him work long hours and I think he had hurt himself pushing this garbage bin so he was taking out his anger on me ,,
Strangely I have shot his pictures earlier and shown their hardship working without safety shoes no masks no gloves .and the outsourcing of the BMC is totally misplaced .. they have drunks in their service .. but most of the people I have shot barring a few are humble and nice .
And I hope the Bandra Municipality takes all this into account .. and I mean because they are overworked they let the garbage lying on the roads and Modijis Swach Bharat will be a failure because of the Municipal staff attitude ..I dont get a kick shooting garbage but it is there in open display overflowing the bins .
And if this Transit Camp at Gen Kumar Vaidya Marg has garbage bins inside the camp why is garbage being thrown on the road and is being used as an alternative garbage site .
I hope my erstwhile MLA Advocate Ashish Shelar brings this and the abusive municipal staff to the notice of Bandra Municipality .
Its only in Bandra if you are homeless destitute or a drugaddict you can live life King Size ,,even the cops who sit a few feet away wont bother him.. frankly most cops bother only those people that have deep pockets ,,I recently saw near New Talkies a traffic cop abusing a senior respectable rickshawala and than with due respect to the cop I wondered why cops are under so much stress unlike the Delhi cop he did not pick up a brick to hit the rickshawala.
This blog is about street dwellers so I shall leave aside police and police reforms ,, a lot of cops need to be reformed before police reforms ,, internally and externally ,,,in their attitude towards the common man .. not all common men are criminals ,,
I have been shooting this stretch of Bandra Hill road and I am left wondering why do drugaddicts prefer this stretch to sleep and dream ..they are always there along with these stray dogs
Where did the mattress come from ..did the mattress come before the drugaddict or vice versa ,, lol.

He came to Mumbai in 1965.
His first wife she was bedridden with a terminal disease died no kids .
He married again his second wife died due to a serious illness no kids .
He collects bread from bakeries than from 3 am till am he crushes it into batter to be used by the slumdog caterers in korma and tanduru.. the caterers give him rs 4 a kg for this batter .
His age is 65 .
His Acche Din are all over ,,,and Modiji has nothing to do with it ,, he is slave driven by his own North Indian brothers .. Muslims ..
New Delhi - Taking on the Prime Minister yet again, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today claimed he stood like a “rock” against Narendra Modi’s “misdeeds” and alleged that the FIR linking his government to the multi-crore rupees water tanker scam was filed at the former’s behest.
Making a brief yet aggressive statement to the media, Kejriwal dared Modi to lodge “as many FIRs and get as many CBI raids conducted against him as he can”, asserting such “coercive” methods would not “scare” him or the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) into silence.
The Chief Minister wondered why Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra was not being acted against, contrary to the pre-poll rhetoric of the BJP. He also questioned the Centre’s “inaction” against Sonia in the AgustaWestland scam.
“I want to make one thing clear to Modiji that I am not Rahul Gandhi. I am not Sonia Gandhi who you will manage to pressurise. I am not Vadra with whom you will enter into a setting. I will die but won’t tolerate fraud. The question is why such raids and FIRs are directed against me? It’s because Modi has managed to scare others using such tactics. I am the only person standing tall against his tactics,” said Kejriwal.
His attack came a day after Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Branch Chief MK Meena said besides probing former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s role in the tanker scam, Kejriwal may also be quizzed for “sitting over” a report by an AAP government-ordered fact-finding committee that had found the alleged irregularities.
He said he would raise his voice against Modi “shielding” Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Anandiben Patel, who he alleged were involved in
the Vyapam scandal, controversy over former IPL
boss Lalit Modi’s immigration application and a land scam, respectively.
“I will raise my voice if you help Vijay Mallya flee the country with Rs 7,000 crore. If you open the defence sector to the FDI, jeopardising the country’s security, then I will raise my voice. If the BJP leaders are seen siding with the killers of an honest officer MM Khan, then I will raise my voice,” he said.
“I am the only person, standing like a rock against the misdeeds of Modi, which is why he is not being able to digest. No CBI raid against Sonia or Rahul. Not an FIR against Vadra or Sonia, but they target me,” he said.
Kejriwal claimed “an FIR was registered against me under the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
“Modi had ordered a CBI raid on me six months ago. Now top officers are probing the case, but they have not found a penny. In a similar way, even now nothing will come out of this FIR,” he added.
On the other hand, Special Commissioner of Police (ACB) MK Meena said the FIR was done after the two complaints – one from Delhi’s Water Minister Kapil Mishra and another from BJP leader Vijender Gupta — related to the water tanker scam were received.
“It was on the basis of their complaints that the FIR was registered under various sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act and both of them will be quizzed in the coming days if required,” Meena stated.
Behind the kids behind the crumbling barricade are Transit Camp houses that were built by the Congress party.. The old transit camp residents of Bandra Reclamation were to be shifted here.. But they refused to move in and finally Congress was swept off with Modijis Swach Bharat broom and now the transit camp houses look haunted and even people don't pass by it.
I am the only person in my family that steps out of the house in the mornings to buy fresh bread brun for the kids vegetables and other essential items .
Sliced bread Amul butter cheese is out of stock.
Provision stores are open but they are not ordering fresh stocks .
Rates of fruits vegetables grains pulses is on the steeper side .
There is no exodus of migrants in our area like Delhi .
Shocking to see those videos and images the think tank of Modiji has certainly lost it .
The lockdown is important but its execution and implementation reminds me of the disastrous lines at the banks during demonetisation .
People are minting money selling masks that cost Rs 8 and are being sold for Rs 30 at chemist shops .
Another two weeks to go ..however people are still roaming on the streets without fear ..even children are moving around .
Our police here in Bandra is very lenient they need to cane a few rogues encouraging jaywalking .
Beggars are having a tough times as the local mosques churches temples are closed .
So the beggars are seen at the market square .
Animals are feeling the aftermath of the lockdown ..stray cats and dogs .
Milk is being supplied so is gaz cylinders ..some housing societies are making it tough fot the senior citizens.
My beat is Bazar and back I have not gone to the other areas of Bandra .
My work is shut the film studios film making is shut .

When I come back from my walks I say Hi to lonely woman lover of cats , chat with her for sometime and take her pictures on my mobile phone .
There is something about her face , her loneliness and her love for her cats that touches me as a photographer and as a poet .
And I used to see her earlier too but I hardly talked to her , but the walks have changed me I talk to people find out what makes them tick..
Once when she was in good health she fed the stray cats at Bandra Bazar Road ,now bed ridden unable to walk she sits on this chair and watches the world from afar .
She sleeps outside her house on the chair instead of the comforts of her bed in her house , she does not get sleep in the house she tells me.
And do people in Mumbai care for the aged , I dont think so Mumbaikars are far too selfish by nature , they hate complications stay away from people ..I can imagine her joy if someone bought her a hot soup,,,someone from her building but her closest neighbor is a washing woman dhobis.
I give her food for her cats that I used to pick up from the beef market as the fish market opens pretty late ...now the beef market has shutdown completely because of the Beef Ban and it is tragic to see the doomed faces of the jobless day workers that sit here hoping against hope.
And than I wonder what would happen to the more bustling chicken market or the mutton market or even the Kolis at the Fish market if there was a total ban on eating non vegetarian,
Perhaps than only would the mutton market and chicken market fish market understand the pain of the beef butcher .
He has lost his only means of survival, most of the daily wage workers are uneducated , unskilled and the beef market was their enduring strength.
The food stall guy near the Sunni Mosque at Bazar Road one made kheema with puris now he uses gravy some peas and potatoes to make his dish bereft of beef , this was the daily breakfast of the ricksha drivers mostly migrants from North India who dont have a house but make do living out of their riicksha.
Though I must make a honorary mention be it the fat lazy Congress or the newly elected BJP , none are interested in making this making this market clean orderly , it badly needs an upgrade ..the beef butchers uneducated as they are blame our local representatives for taking undue credit for the beef ban without helping them get rid of their old stocks , those that shunned Congress and supported Modijis Sab Ke Sat Sabka Vikas are repenting for having being targeted for the wrong reasons ,, the rich Muslims have no problem perhaps but the poorest of the poor among Muslims has been left with darkness at the end of the tunnel.
And there were many beef butchers I knew at Bandra Slaughter House who must be be feeling robbed of their only means of living that they had.
I became friendly with the beef butchers lately as I bought beef heart for my Flowerhorns ..
A slum named after Mother India Ms Nargis Dutt ,a slum synonymous with urban ugliness chaos and regular demolitions ,..I shudder to think what Ms Nargis Dutt goes through ,,writhing in her grave as you pass by this slum , a garbage dump , children defecating on the streets , the pallor of failed poetry of life , fulsome fetid and always a vote bank , created by the Congress they say once upon a time ,,now barring a disinterested civic presence it is basically Bandra free of Congress totally utterly decimated first time in its political history ,,,
As this is a street blog and has no political plank , Nargis Dutt Nagar if the earlier Congress satraps wanted could have been a model slum , clean ,pristine but that was never to be , now sadly it is known for the wrong reasons ,I shoot it every time my cab or bus passes that way. I feel sad as humanity lives here in one of the most expensive real estate , but the way the way they live , even God would never want to live here ,, no effort has been made to rehabilitate it positively ,, touch or heal it ,, but everyone has politically made gains from the naivete of the denizens here ,,
Well Nargis Dutt Nagar earnestly waits for Acche Din.. a rapid stroke of the cosmic broom to make it a pride of Swach Bharat ,,, it also hopes for the enlightenment of Modijis misplaced balm called Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas,..
People used to once call it mini Bhendi Bazar but Bhendi Bazar in a few years will have Manhattan skyline with towers zooming into the clouds,,,while Nargis Dutt Nagar is slums rising high like a pack of cards , already survived a major fire ,,it stands on a timeless quicksand .

I visit the Bandra slums and a guy narrated an incident to me , he stays in the Bandra Slaughter slums close to the Bandra Station a sprawling Muslim dominated slums ,they were getting water very erratically so I am told a few seniors appealed to a local politician , he was rude and highly offensive he told them what do you want me to do piddle in the pipes .. the slum dwellers walked away but they are adamant that this time they will teach him and his party a lesson that they will remember .
And if you come to Bandra Bazar Road you can count the potholes , the bad roads , the disintegrating Bandra Bazar market that does not even has a ladies loo for the Kolis who sell fish here .
Just hoisting the national Flag distributing cheap pedas is not going to get them votes ..yeh bar public Eda nahi banewali hai.
The Am Admi party parachuted Mr Phiroze Palkiwala , who had no standing in Bandra , just visiting a few slums uploading a few You Tube videos is not enough.. and where is Mr Phiroze Palkivala .. why was a Bandraite or a local given a chance or was there some political understanding to defeat the Congress by dividing the votes and letting the BJP candidate win by a thumping majority I think only God knows the Truth .. With all my respect for Mr Mayank Gandhi I think the Am Admi Party made a big fool of all of us .. I wont forget or forgive.
I was broke but I was desperately trying to go shoot the Mahabharat between Mr Kejriwal and Modiji luckily I did not go.. it was nothing but Don Quixote fighting the Windmills with Sanchez fighting a losing battle in Amethi.

The Rise And Fall of Falcon Villa Chapel Road Bandra
It took 20 years for the BMC to realize this building constructed by Reddy Builder was illegal he had constructed an illegal building at Bandra Bazar road near Sheetal provision store that was demolished too .
But the people who suffer are the buyers of such kind of property .
A lot of people at Falcon Villa spent their lifes savings and when a person writes directly to PM Narendra Modiji about this illegal construction on social media than the inevitable had to happen.
The person was vicious and hellbent on getting them evicted only God knows the reason..
I as a people photographer shot the pain tears of the residents ,, they were all evicted before the rains had to fend for themselves disrupting their lives their children s education..
I played tennis at Coach Mr Surendra Pawar tennis academy and began documenting it ,,,with no agenda or ulterior motive .
These poor residents did not have the resources like the Campa Cola people .
A few days back the BMC began demolishing the floors of this vacant building adhering to the Court order ..
The people that colluded to build this illegal structure along with corrupt officials are free .. and will continue spreading their evil scams .

It has taken me a lot of time to gain her stuff she is absolutely defiant always angry and sometimes pretends to speak to Modiji on her mobile phone complaining about the wrong people in Bandra..
