I am trying my best to get back into my diary. Since moving, I have not had the time to get out my cameras, nor is my big computer set up. They say that the best camera that you have is the one that you have with you, and in that spirit, I am taking my iPhone out of my pocket and taking a few photos, ala Ebilflindas.
Moving is always so hard. The disarray lasts so long (at least it does with us). The chickens have entered into their two-ness in full force, it feels like, and my patience is thin. I am having some health issues that make life less enjoyable than it could be. This is my life today.
this reminded me of David Hockney ...
my friend, Sheri, and I just saw the Hockney portraits exhibit @ LACMA..
he uses more color but ... I guess this is the nature of homage: close but not quite.
Loos house, house Goldman & Salatsch
Property ID: 30462 Saint Michael's square 3
Cadastral Community: Inner City
The house was built in 1909-1911 by Adolf Loos for the tailor company Goldmann & Salatsch and 1938 slightly changed. Recognized nowadays as an (internationally too) important work of early modernism, it triggered a heated public debate by radical renunciation of historicist decor. However, it is characterized by the use of precious materials and by numerous references to the surrounding buildings.
Looshaus, Haus Goldman & Salatsch
Objekt ID: 30462 Michaelerplatz 3
Katastralgemeinde: Innere Stadt

David Park House
1501 Birchmont Dr.
Bemidji, MN
One of Minnesota's few outstanding examples of residential Streamline Moderne architecture, built in 1936.
Pattern from Mason-Dixon Knitting.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece.
The pattern doesn't quite match the one in the book, but it's pretty close. I tried to keep the red and the dark pink from touching, but I don't think it would have mattered.
