Het gebouw van de Hypolux Bank in Luxemburg, 1989-1993. Het witte gedeelte schreeuwt bijna dat het van Richard Meier is, de Amerikaanse architect die we in Nederland vooral kennen van het Haagse stadhuis.

I used this for a color theory class, painting it in different color schemes. (well, painting pictures of the clock, not painting the clock itself)
Sears is not a proud company these days. One only has to take a walk through a Sears store in any mall in the US to understand this. But at a nondescript intersection in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, stands a proud symbol of the Sears from a bygone era.
This Sears store was opened in 1932 on the same day as two other very similarly designed art moderne stores in Hackensack, NJ and Union City, NJ. All 3 are downtown stores which served walk-in shoppers from the street-side entrances, as well as parking-lot entrances. The Hackensack and Brooklyn stores are both still operating as Sears; the Union City store closed in the 90's and houses a kinda sad urban mall.
This shot really displays the deco detail on the 2 streetside sides of the building. Imagine how beautiful the building was before the picture windows were bricked over.

Nutana is dotted with these small gems. This house is built in the Streamline Moderne style, a 1940s offshoot of Art Deco. The flat roof, gentle curves and geometric shapes typify this type of architecture.

In juni 2015 zien we de 801 op de Molenwerf als lijn 12- waar hij ook op 27 oktober zijn laatste inzet had.. Op de achtergrond de oude standplaats van lijn 12 en 14 bij het voormalige NS station in de Oude Lijn naar Haarlem. De situatie is hier sindsdien veranderd: het huis links is geheel gerenoveerd en tegenwoordig een repair café met ernaast een klassieke overwegboom en in de tuin een stationsbord "Sloterdijk Zuid" ,lijn 12 werd ingeruild voor 19 en de sporen verhuisden naar een plek rechts buiten beeld. De 801 werd in mei 2016 afgevoerd naar DDM in de Meern voor sloop.
