The Japanese are so keen to express things visually that instead of using menus they have rows of models depicting food outside of many restaurants. There is an area of Tokyo where there are model food craftsmen. The model food is very realistic.

This photo was 90% model and 10% me screwing around with lights and a fan. I shot this with a Canon 580EX speedlight with a shoot-through umbrella slightly left and in front of model camera left and high. I used a reflector for fill, aimed up from the floor. I had two bare Canon 550EXs behind model right and left. (The one on the left had a yellow gel on it.

I just finished this model today. Revell's 1956 vintage, Sherman tank is in my opinion, the granddaddy of all 1/35 scale armor kits. Although it represents a hodgepodge of Sherman variants, "Scaled from official U.S. Army prints" the kit is remarkably well detailed for a mid 1950s model. I did some slight modifications. I drilled out the main gun, drilled out the optical sight and 30 caliber machine gun port on the mantlet, replaced the bow machine gun, and removed the injector pin buttons on the bogies. I used a stencil, and painted the stars. My painting and weathering techniques were simple: spray can for the olive drab (airbrushing is a pain in the @ss for me, and I only do it when absolutely necessary ) , some pin washes, dry brushing with a lighter OD, and pastel powders. I have an original 1956 unbuilt kit in my collection, that I have included in my images.

In this photo I used the exit of a building. I am standing on the inside and he is on the outside, where only the left and right side comes with light that can be varied with.
The left light has the function as fill light and to emphasize the profile of the face, while the light of the right side emphasizes the jaw line.
