I don't usually take portrait shots of model so I'm trying something new. She was great to work with.

From the flowers growing beautifully on the ground, to the trees that tower the grassy fields, all the way to the the stars and moon that fill the night sky. We can safely say that nature is beautiful as well as this model here: Jordan Duhon!
One of the mecha from a Japanese magazine that the ever-popular zizy blogged about back in Sep2014 (more japanese blog goodness here, but be warned some ads are NSFW). I was really excited for this magazine as it showcased some great techniques using highly accessible sets/parts. I had no luck trying to find it online, but a friend visiting Tokyo found a copy in a Tora no Ana shop for me. While disappointed that you can't build more than one of the four mecha (that instructions are provided for) at a time from the five Chima Legend Beast sets, they are still great builds.

I did my first photoshoot today with a 'fashion' model - it was her first time at modelling too so we were both newbies at it. I think though we got some good shots between us.
Well done Julia - thanks so much for your time and good luck with your new career!

Playing with the distance is a great way to give a photo the right impact. The distance can be made smaller by the model by leaning forwards and supporting for example on her elbows and the photographer can increase the impact in the photo by placing the eyes on 3/4 of the photo. As a result, a small piece of the top of her head falls away, but you almost get the feeling that you are sitting on the lip of the model.
