Beim vorliegenden Exemplar handelt es sich um ein sehr frühes Modell aus dem Entstehungsjahr mit niedriger Seriennummer.

Das voraussichtlich in den Jahren 1906/1907 eingeführte D.F. 8x mit gegossener Brücke (siehe www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/18328766799) ist ein erfolgreiches Modell und fand auch als Exportglas grossen Anklang. So wird es bspw. als militärische Version des Telact nach Belgien, dem Telact mit Schreibschrift (siehe www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19220702660) und ohne Schreibschrift sowie dem Turact ohne Schreibschrift entsprechend als Armee-Modell in die Schweiz, als D.F. 8x (Telact-Form) in die Türkei oder auch als militärisches Telact nach England (siehe www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19145846420) exportiert.
Bei dem vorliegenden Exemplar handelt es sich um ein seltenes Schweizer Exportglas in der Telact-Form und ohne Schreibschrift auf den beiden oberen Deckeln. Wie auch beim D.F. 1910 (siehe www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19327244042) lassen sich prinzipiell zwei allgemeine Besonderheiten ausmachen:
- Das Zeiss-Logo befindet sich nicht wie gewohnt auf dem linken oberen Deckel sondern sehr klein auf der Teilscheibe eingraviert.
- Die Seriennummer ist am oberen rechten Deckelrand zu finden, wohingegen sie sich bei anderen militärischen Zeiss-Gläsern dieser Zeit am Deckelrand unten rechts befindet.
Laut Seegers Buch „Zeiss-Feldstecher“ 1. Auflage 2010, fällt die Seriennummer in den Nummernkreis einer Serie von Turact.

Presumably introduced in 1906/1907, the D.F. 8x with casted folding bar (see www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/18328766799) is a successful model and proved quite popular as export as well. For example, it is exported to Belgium as a military version of the Telact, corresponding to the Telact with cursive handwriting (see www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19220702660) and without cursive handwriting and corresponding to the Turact without cursive handwriting as Armee-Modell to Switzerland, as D.F. 8x (Telact form) to Turkey, or as military Telact also to England (see www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19145846420).
This Armee-Modell represents a rare Swiss export model in the Telact form and without cursive handwriting on both upper cover plates. As with the D.F. 1910 (see www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/19327244042) there can be two general peculiarities determined:
- The Zeiss trademark is not located on top of the left upper cover plate as expected but can be found as a very small engraving on top of the washer.
- The serial number can be found on the rim of the upper right cover plate in contrast to other Zeiss military models of that period where the number is located on the rim of the lower right cover plate.
According to Seeger’s book "Zeiss-Feldstecher" 1. Auflage 2010, the serial number belongs to the number range of a series of Turact.
