Bautzen, obersorbisch Budyšin bis 3. Juni 1868 offiziell Budissin (siehe Ortsname), ist eine Große Kreisstadt in Ostsachsen. Die Stadt liegt an der Spree und ist Kreissitz des nach ihr benannten Landkreises Bautzen. Mit rund 38.000 Einwohnern ist Bautzen zugleich die größte Stadt des Kreises und die zweitgrößte der Oberlausitz sowie deren historische Hauptstadt.
Obwohl in der Stadt im sorbischen Siedlungsgebiet selbst nur eine sorbische Minderheit von 5 bis 10 % der Bevölkerung wohnt, ist sie das politische und kulturelle Zentrum der Sorben.

Als Weitwinkelmodell mit dem grössten scheinbaren Sehwinkel von etwa 90° (198 m/1000 m) wird das Deltarem, das Modell mit Mitteltrieb, Mitte der 30er Jahre eingeführt. Aufgrund des verwendeten Elektron-Werkstoffs (Magnesium-Aluminium-Legierung) weist es als Federleicht-Modell mit ca. 1000 g ein vergleichsweise geringes Gewicht gemessen an seiner massiven Bauweise auf.

As a wide-angle model with the largest apparent angle of view of about 90° (198 m/1000 m) the Deltarem, the model with central focusing, is introduced in the mid 30s. Due to the used Elektron material (magnesium-aluminum alloy) with ca. 1000 g as a feather-light model it shows a comparatively low weight measured against its massive design.

Auf der Suche nach den ´Seven Sisters´ (einer Felsformation an der englischen Küste nahe Brighton) hielten wir an einem kleinen einsamen Parkplatz. Und hier stand zufällig ein älteres englisches Ehepaar mit seinem noch älteren Oldtimer, einem Modell-T aus der Zeit vor der Fließbandproduktion. Das massenproduzierte Modell-T gab es bekanntermaßen in jeder Farbe, solange es Schwarz war. Bei diesem frühen Exemplar hier strahlten helles Blau und funkelndes Messing um die Wette.
Der Stopp war kurz. Nach einem schnellen Plausch mit der sehr charmanten Besitzergattin, die durchaus auch Oldtimer-Spezialistin genannt werden durfte, wurde der mitgeführte Zeichenblock gezückt. Leider näherte sich eine kleine Regenfront und das Schmuckstück sollte rasch heim in die trockene Garage. Ein kurzer Ruck an der Anlasserkurbel, und der Zeichner stand leider ohne sein Motiv.
