Gamla Model Makers was invited to design and build a model of typical Midwest town for exclusive History Channel's documentary "Black Blizzard". The model and special effects staged on it helped to recreate the most dramatic environmental disaster of 20th century.

Built well over 50 years ago, the magnificent 1/10th scale models continue to surprise and amaze visitors from all over the world with their superb quality and realism.
Re-creating the historic market town of Wimborne Minster exactly as it was during the 1950s, you can get really close up and even touch the buildings, checking out every minute detail of over 100 shop window displays. Peer into the Butchers, the Ironmongers, the Bakery and the Fishmongers, not forgetting the stunning interior of the Minster Church. As you begin to explore in more detail, your mind will turn to wondering just how the group of skilled and dedicated model makers achieved such amazing ‘life like’ results – working as they did over five decades ago in a rural England still recovering from the war years.

A full range of refreshments are available from the traditional tea rooms, and bargain hunters enjoy checking out the gift shop which is packed full of unusual and interesting items. Discover the newly designed and built interactive Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends working model railway layout.
Wendy Street is a designed safe play area for our younger visitors. The grown ups can relax and enjoy their cream teas while the children play happily close-by. A recent new addition is the Sunflower Garden Putting Lawn where all age groups can have fun and test their skills on our mini course.

A Morris Museum Lionel Train Display

The Morris Museum’s Model Railroad Gallery. Visitors will be introduced to a the state-of-the-art model train exhibition, which features three separate tracks. The trains move through a world of imagination as they travel through a town with shops, cars, and people busy with activity. Bright ‘neon’ (L.E.D.) billboards and shop signs lend a contemporary touch to the landscape.
The Model Town in Wimborne, Dorset is a 1:10 replica of the town as it was in the 1950s. This room in "The King Head Hotel" even had a mirror in it, allowing the photo. (Though I'm not sure "The Guardian" headline about BA ticket scandal is from the 1950s.
Thanks to the child who had the same interest in this little hotel room
