The trains speed past ten replicas of some of San Francisco's most famous places including the Conservatory of Flowers itself, the Japanese Tea Garden, the Golden Gate Bridge, Mission Dolores, Chinatown's dragon gate, the Transamerica Pyramid building, the Ferry Building, Coit Tower, Ghirardelli Square and the Bently Reserve (formerly the Federal Reserve Building). Surrounding these landmarks is a magical landscape of miniature gardens and parks created with living plants including dwarf conifers, tiny orchids and more. "

IC 2-4-4T Restoration Gem 1972 Run 121309 002 by bslook1213

This is a Gem Models O scale IC 2-4-4T that I bought as a pile of parts on Ebay a few years ago. I soldered / reassembled all the pieces to have this when completed. It runs good (O scale two rail operation.) The finish is brass paint with clear finish over raw brass.

Sunday the 26th was the last day the Gadsden-Pacific Division Toy Train Operating Museum was open before the summer closing. Our grand-nephew and his family came to visit on the three day Memorial Day weekend, so we had an opportunity to take them. I have a feeling we'll be going back once they reopen in the fall.

The Monashee Pacific was a proposed railway in the 1950's that was never built. The Edmonton Model Railway Association, located at Fort Edmonton Park, has created a world where this railway exists. The level of detail is incredible, from the towns, the trains and the people, no minute detail has been omitted. There is even someone taking a crap in the woods with a bear approaching him.

I could have spent days photographing this incredible layout. I have only included the highlights.

The operation of the turntable is armstrong... or in this case finger strong. The bridge turns on a copper bar inserted into two flat washers. Power to the track comes from two wire wipers run up through the base of the pit.. The bridge was made from a Atlas plate girder bridge cut down to size and re assemlbled around a rectangular block of pine.
