SD40-2 No. BNSF 6311 pounds the diamond at RS Tower, somewhere in the Mid-West of the USA, bracketed by GE Dash 9-44CWs wearing the latest (BNSF 693) and earliest (BNSF 681) Burlington Northern Santa Fe paint schemes, with an double stack service made up of maritime boxes. The trio are on the last stretch of their journey to Chicago, having traversed almost two-thirds of the USA via BNSF's 'Transcon' route from Los Angeles. In the background, Belt Railway of Chicago MP15DC No. BRC 536 hostles freight cars in the small yard. The water tower needs a smiley face!
The picture was taken on RS Tower (rstower.wordpress.com) at the Andover Model Railway Exhibition on September 7th, 2008.

A few photos of the dis-assembly, cleaning and reassembly of a C&O H-7a 2-8-8-2. This model was fairly tarnished and had dark spots in the finish. It also was missing a tender step and needed a good cleaning and lube. This is a shot of the existing tender step that I used to make a new step.
This is the Amtrak RTL Truboliner model from Rapido Trains. These were made by Rohr a company in California back in 1976. This model is the phase III early version 150, 170, 171, 172, 151.

Sometimes the good stuff at the NS yard in Columbia is hidden by a tree. This is an impressive piece of graffiti.
I bought this little dozer on a local craigslist page a couple of weeks ago. I don't usually collect equipment like this, but, the very low price wouldn't let me pass it up. Made in China for OMI in 2002, this D&RGW Railroad dozer was used for laying pipe. The photos were taken outdoors on a small diorama with my iphone. These are highly detailed for a small 1:87 scale model.

Scratchbuilt N-scale CNW Milwaukee depot as part of the modular layout at the 2024 St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modelers meet in Collinsville, IL.
I have re-assembled this model after cleaning and repair of broken and missing parts. It was a rather sparse in details, and I did not add any to this project just to keep the appearance original. Some small items still need tweaking, but, for the most part it is done. This is the first Akane model that I have seen that came with a serial / production number. This one is number 93, and it is stamped in several locations with the number. These are common models, so this must be number 93 of hundreds made. This is the 1959 run year, with un-sprung drivers. The videos are the first and second test runs after assembly, they are not good, but, you get the idea anyway.

This 1930's Lionel Standard gauge No. 384 2-4-0 is a good example of an original condition, used, but well maintained, model. Considering it's original owner received it at around 6 years old, it has held up very well. He, by the way, still owns this same engine some 70 years later. It is here to have some light maintenance done so it will be ready to circle the Christmas tree next month.
The beautiful layout work of Kenichi Matsumoto - Mr. Matsumoto, the former editor of Train Magazine (Japan) and editor of The Art of Brass, The Tenshodo Book and several other publications regarding brass models trains, kindly allowed me to post a few photos from his layout. Kenichi took these photos and sent them to my Friend Sean, and myself recently. I will edit the titles to add information shortly.

To group administrators: If I am uploading to many photos to your group and it gets annoying, please let me know, I will stop. I put the photos in the groups hoping other model railroaders will appreciate and enjoy them as much as I do.

This beauty belongs to my friend Scott, he asked me to give it a weathered look as it was too black to see all the wonderful detail that this model has. Here are a few before & after photos of the weathering paint.

This is a Custom Brass New York Central P-2A Electric Locomotive in HO scale that I bought recently. I spent this weekend repairing it. It was a basket case and was missing some parts. I still have to find a pantograph shoe for the roof to complete it, but, now it looks much better and runs very well.

I have just started restoring this Akane C&O 2-6-6-6 for my friend Sean. This is a series of photos showing how it was received (in parts), going through drive modifications and finally, paint and reassembly - This photo shows the boiler mounted on the rear frame in order to check all the clearances of the motor and gear tower.
