The New York Central System vanished in February 1968 following its merger with the Pennsylvania Railroad, but it lives on through countless model railroad layouts including this one created by Edward Ribinskas.

This one is an XM4B boxcar. The prototype cars were built by the CB&Q's Havelock shops in 1966.

This model is some old Modeler's Choice sides, Branchline ends and roof, Accurail underframe, Plano roofwalk, and lots of fabricated styrene parts. Decals are the Modeler's Choice set that was intended for this car.

A gentleman at the 2009 show had modeled the Edmund Fitzgerald. His scale looks to be H-O (1:87). He built all the accompanying models, too. Every time I see The Big Fitz I can hear Gordon Lightfoot (The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald), and I get all choked up. The 729' laker was lost in a monster Lake Superior gale on November 10, 1975, together with all 29 hands. Due to the exceptionally cold waters of Lake Superior, no bodies were ever recovered. Mighty Fitz has the dubious distinction, so far, of being the last big freighter lost on the Great Lakes.

Scenery from Arnold Kimmons model railroad set in the low country of South Carolina. This home layout was open during the model railroad month layout open house tours.

Rudy's from Clevermodels with an little homemade add on. The black wall is where the layout ends.

On my first trip along Route 66 to California I saw signs for the Jackrabbit hundreds of miles before we actually arrived in Joseph City, AZ where it was located. I needed a similar stop on my model railroad.

Westerns on shed (part of my N Gauge railway collection). In this picture: Western Talisman, Western Champion, Western Gauntlet, Western Sovereign and Western Musketeer. And a slightly misplaced Class 50! All models in this view are from Graham Farish.

I made a visit to the Chi-Town Union Station model railroad display in Union Lake, Michigan

on January 27 with Chelsea_Dale, KRFoto and another friend. Chi-Town isn't just any model

railroad, it is the world's largest O-Scale layout, and they run the world's longest model train.

A nice variety of equipment from a variety of railroads is represented in this busy yard scene.

DE: Schaumstoff-Einlage hatte sich auch hier altersbedingt praktisch zersetzt und verunreinigte das Modell.

EN: Foam insert had practically disintegrated due to age and contaminated the model.
