We started with a double-sided sheet that would ultimately be our textblock. It was written and formatted by our instructor, Robert Wu: www.studiorobertwu.com
Fairly poor pic of a miniature rose in a bunch of flowers. I was convinced it was a carnation from the colour break colouring

Miniature World: The Greatest Little Show on Earth
While walking past Miniature World in Victoria, BC, I wondered if I could achieve a tilt-shift effect on an already miniaturized world by getting really, really close with my 16-35mm f/4 lens.
The f/4 gives me an already shallow DOF, and getting really close to anything decreases that DOF exponentially. The 16mm lens on my full frame Nikon is ultrawide, so I can get the entire scene in even when only inches from the model.
Turns out I could actually have gone with a smaller aperture, f/6.3 or even f/7.1, and still kept the focus tight on the man reading the paper while dropping the grannies out of focus. That capability gives me a wide range of potential subjects in every scene. The next time, I'll try a shot with the grannies in focus and the man blurred out, to see how I can change the feeling of the photograph.
This diorama can be viewed for free in the entrance of Miniature World; I'm looking forward to going back and seeing the whole show, I hear it's extensive. For more information, check out their website:

Taken from the tram of Mount Roberts Tramway. Post processed for the miniature effect.
Space Marine (and genestealer) miniatures from my friend Peter's old Space Hulk set. They've been unpainted for 20 years, and now we've finished them, and in only two weeks. They're quick and dirty, but they look pretty good.

Just look at the fine details!
Oh dear Megahouse, even if you don't have Re-Ment's variety and secret sets, if it's true you're not producing any more miniatures, playtime will be one less spark! =(
