1977 Mini-IMA in Bonn, Germany.
The Mini-IMA was an station wagon version of the Mini produced by Industria de Montagem de Automoveis in Portugal. Other than British Mini Vans, the Portugese IMA's have a single rear door.

Last Tuesday my beautiful, wonderful, generous, kind, thoughtful, and talented best friend Nati took a day off work to come to my house and slave over 40 mini cakes with me! She's the absolute best :) She also brought a delicious salad, bread and home baked cookies with her. I'm such a spoilt girl. We worked from 10.30 am to 10.30pm with a few breaks in between to get these little suckers done. They are 5cm square fruit and chocolate mud cakes (10 fruit and 30 mud) and let me tell you, no amount of money is enough for these, they are as labour intensive as a large cake!
Still it was a great day, with Nati and my daughter D'arcy helping out too, she cut out all the hearts for us, including the ones on the wire.
A rare circa 1960s BMC Mini ¼-Ton LHD Pickup Truck sits abandoned and neglected on the Ionian island of Kefalonia, Greece. I am not certain which exact year this example was produced, although the original Mini Pickup was built from 1961-1983, with a total of 58,179 reportedly produced. It seems that external door hinges (which were found on all Minis built from 1959-‘68), were still present on the pickup variant throughout its lifetime. This Mini Pickup will have no doubt worked a long and very hard life over here, until presumably finally being parked when something major went very wrong. Regardless, someone out there would still pay money for this, even if only as an original parts donor source.
The red car in the background is a circa 1983-’86 Ford Escort MKIII. Behind that is a yellow JCB digger/excavator.
4. KLASSIK TOUR KRONBERG 2017

Mini Moo is doing well. He visited the vet yesterday, and then returned to my friends' farm to stay in their upstairs bathroom. I know that he will get more of the interaction that he craves staying in a house that homeschools three young kids rather than in the home of someone who is more often than not gone twelve hours a day for work. I have visiting privileges, of course! At the vet, Mini Moo received an antibiotic injection. He also will have ear drops, eye drops, a med to treat parasites, and lysine. This little trooper continues to be able to eat on his own and his drive to live is back in full gear. I truly hope and pray that his eyes respond to the treatment. . . I don't wish for Mini Moo to live with chronic eye issues (although I know the quality of life can be easily great. . . just look at Gumbo!). We are also praying for the right home for this little love bug!
The basket is about 1.75" x about 1.25" or something like that. It is one of my favorite "Al" baskets :-)
I wish that he had a computer....

This has actually been built for a while; I just never photographed and posted it. Nothing like a little social distancing to help find things to do.
The concept is simple: I wanted to contextualize the mini modular buildings that my partner and I have been designing and building, and I wanted it to be an equally modular and expansive system to keep up with out growing mini city, as well as simple and inexpensive to build large amounts of. Here's what I came up with! They connect with a pair of Technic pins on each side, just like the modulars.
A Greater Manchester Police officer and one of the Force's Austin Mini cars alongside a Laker Skytrain aircraft at Manchester International Airport in 1970s.
This image was taken just after Greater Manchester Police took over responsibility for policing the airport, which had previously had its own force. Many airport officers joined GMP and continued to work their unusual beat.
Going into production in 1959, the Mini became one of the most iconic police vehicles of the next two decades and was famously used by the Panda patrol system.
