This are the main laws for creating mindmaps, inspired by Tony Buzan, some tips could be added but principaly those laws work for most of the mindmaps.
I was staring off into the corner of the room, and suddenly it hit me. I'd left the biggest procrastination technique off my mindmap! Welcome aboard, daydreaming.

Mind Maps are a fabulous way to learn, plan and create. They have an infinite number of uses such as planning speeches and presentations, exam revision, idea generation and coping with information overload.
Invented by Tony Buzan, the Mind Map concept uses a combination of images, colour and words to encourage creativity and make learning fun. A Mind Map captures everything on one page presenting a complete and overall picture in a highly memorable and user-friendly format that can be navigated with ease. Created by hand or computer based software, you can use a Mind Map for anything from a shopping list to dissecting difficult text books.
Starting in the centre of a landscape piece of paper add a central image that captures the subject you are mapping and introduce branches that radiate outwards with one word prompts on each curve. Each group of branches should ideally be a different colour with each curve matching the length of the word, so that the brain can move easily from word to word. Allow ideas to flow, without over analysis as the Mind Map expands by adding new branches of keywords and associations. Within minutes you can have a subject summarised on one piece of paper, making Mind Maps brilliant for exam revision and learning. There are many online resources presenting Mind Map examples to help inspire you, plus computer-based software for mind mapping including 3D mind mapping.
Drawing a Mind Map is quick and easy and requires minimal artistic skills. If you wish to learn how to develop your drawing skills further, I have an E-Book called “Drawing Tips for Mind Mapping” with very easy instructions that will have you drawing instantly. For a more comprehensive look I have a second E-Book available called “How I drew my Mind Maps” which further expands on drawing techniques and my third E-Book “Idea Creation” explains how to have infinite ideas; after reading it you will never be stuck for an idea again!

Another mindmap for another research paper, the last paper I'll write towards my bachelors degree. Again, I owe credit to the awesome team at Head First for causing my mind to think in "mindmap" form. I have a tough time writing papers without mapping out my ideas now. (in case you missed my last two mindmaps they're still online for my warhol paper and the silly mindmap of me)
For this paper I wrote a paper about Women photographers of the depression era (including Dorothea Lange, Maarion Post Wolcott, and Esther Bubley). The paper was written for the art history course I took this semester, Women in Art.
And yes, I really wish I would have photographed this a couple days ago but I was a little busy writing the paper. Before I was able to photograph it Jaylen got to add his creative touch to the mind map. I'm not sure if he just loved my mindmap, or perhaps he was trying to tell me just what he thought of women photographers. Or even better, he proclaims his excitement in his scribbles on my mindmap because finishing this paper means I'm finished with my bachelors degree at SCAD!!!

Why is it that the beginning of the year always feels electrical with the excitement of *this year* being the one where you achieve all of your most important goals? Like most people, starting on New Year's, I spend time thinking about my goals, write many of them down, and start taking action. While I am happy with the progress I've made in the past, I've had the feeling that many of my goals seem to lose momentum after a few months. Starting a couple months ago I began researching how I could effectively be reminded about my goals on a daily basis, but not be overwhelmed by tons of information or underwhelmed by boring goals written on a piece of paper.

I had a few presentations to give and create on a few subjects. This was a map of some specific subjects that I could include. It made selecting what to talk about easier this way. Seeing all possible avenues helps select the best one to go down, before you start...
