This iceberg has sunk deeper into the sea and has flowed almost 2 kilometers away from where I had originally seen it near town. It movement of the ice is imperceptible.
While fishing every day of the Martha's Vineyard Derby in 2006, I caught a glimpse of the Monarch Butterfly migration. During a few days, the beaches of Chappaquiddick were aflutter with these beautiful butterflies. I stopped my car and captured a shot of this one resting on on some flowers. Apparently these butterflies migrate up to three thousand miles to the the Neovolcanic Mountains in Mexico.
Sandhill Cranes are starting to fill the skies at the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge as they begin their migration south.
