The giant tortoise is one of the most iconic animals in the Galapagos. El Chato reserve on the Santa Cruz island is home to hundreds of these gentle giants - the perfect place to see them in their natural habitat. It is also an interesting place birds: Darwin tree and ground finches fly between the trees, while yellow warblers add a touch of color to the scene.
In the heart of Northern Europe, I've been discovering the wonders of the world, one frame at a time. For nearly eight years, my Nikon camera has been my loyal companion. We've shared countless sunrises and sunsets, braved storms, and celebrated the quiet peace of a snowfall. This camera isn't just a piece of equipment to me; it's an extension of myself, a tangible piece of my soul that lets me capture the world as I see it.
A ray of sunshine finds its way through the forest canopy to illuminate a tiny Hygrocybe mushroom growing in moss.

Le quartier de la Pointe Courte est certainement le plus pittoresque de la ville. Isolée de l’autre côté de la ligne de chemin de fer, peu accessible, cette courte langue de terre bordant l’Etang de Thau abrite un microcosme singulier dans la singularité de Sète. A l’origine, constituée de cabanes de pêcheurs construites de bric et de broc, de bois et de tôle, la Pointe courte est maintenant un ensemble de petites maisons basses colorées et coquettes, souvent fleuries et décorées de bibelots. Il n’y a qu’un seul commerce à la Pointe, le bar restaurant Le Passage avec sa terrasse sur le quai du canal qui constitue aussi le centre culturel du quartier, le lieu de rassemblement des jouteurs et des joueurs de pétanque. Cette île dans l’île est quadrillée de quelques rues et « traverses » aux noms pittoresques d’où les voitures sont exclues. Il y a du linge étendu le long du quai, des chaises et des tables devant les maisons dont la rue constitue le jardin. Il y a des bancs où les « Pointus » (habitants de la Pointe Courte) passent le temps à papoter entre eux. Ici les gens semblent vivre dehors et la convivialité semble être la règle de vie. Il y a toujours les cabanes de pêcheurs, certaines portant des inscriptions humoristiques, des filets et des nasses séchant au soleil dans un enchevêtrement de ferraille, de casiers, de barques et objets hétéroclites rappelant un peu les ports d’Asie.
Et surtout il y a l’omniprésence des chats qui représentent l’essentiel de la population, chats beaux, chats laids, chats ronds, chats pointus, chats dormant en rond n’importe où, sans crainte de se faire écraser. Les chats ont pris possession de ce petit paradis félin, où ils tolèrent cependant la présence des humains qui les nourrissent, car ils ne sont pas chiens !
E' soltanto un minuscolo popolamento di muschio insediatosi su una superficie di cemento. Soltanto questo, direbbe un umano; in realtà è un prodigioso microcosmo le cui radici affondano negli esigui interstizi del substrato più difficile e le cui fronde ospitano semi e minuscoli animali che gli umani, appunto, non riescono a vedere. Un universo in miniatura, che affronta indomito un futuro incerto, con la proprompente forza della vita ..... ..
La pozza d'alpeggio è uno degli habitat più ricchi di forme di vita dell'intera montagna veneta. Nel microcosmo dele acque basse e sature di sostanza organica, così come nella spessa fanghiglia di fondale, migliaia di organismi di decine e decine di specie diverse interagiscono per l'intera stagione vegetativa. Tutto però s'interrompe al sopraggiungere dell'inverno ..... ..

The Gothic cathedral represented the universe in microcosm and each architectural concept, including the loftiness and huge dimensions of the structure, were intended to convey a theological message: the great glory of God.
The building becomes a microcosm in two ways. Firstly, the mathematical and geometrical nature of the construction is an image of the orderly universe, in which an underlying rationality and logic can be perceived.

UNE VIE SANS NOM
De petits microcosmes de plantes rampantes et de fruits sauvages
bordaient le sentier qui menait au sommet des montagnes.
Les végétaux s’accrochaient tant bien que mal au sol rocailleux de ces haut plateaux nordiques… leur fonction étant de permettre à d’autres espèces de survivre.
Des vies sans nom, modestes et sans statut…
…que tant des marcheurs, trop pressés d’admirer la vue grandiose du paysage, piétinaient;
…que tant d’artistes, peintres et photographes, qui adhèrent à une hiérarchie conventionnelle des arts et de la beauté, ignoraient;
…que tant de scientifiques, qui s’intéressent à la vie sur la planète, se limitaient à décrire dans d’imposants traités réservés aux érudits - préférant plutôt s’intéresser aux espèces ennoblies par les modes hiérarchiques de la pensée humaine.
Parfois, des enfants les regardaient avec curiosité et tendaient la main pour cueillir un petit fruit… Mais ils se faisaient aussitôt rappeler par les adultes de ne pas leur toucher: ils pourraient être poison!
Un jour, un marcheur qui passait par là, remarqua ces petits microcosmes de végétaux et de lichens liés de façon inextricable. Émerveillé par ce chaos vivant, il se mit à plat ventre sur le sol pour mieux faire des photos.
« Vous êtes photographe? » …notre marcheur crut-il entendre dans son subconscient.
Non, pas vraiment répondit-il, surpris et confus. Je suis simplement un poète.

A LIFE WITH NO NAME
Small microcosms of creeping plants and wild fruits
bordered the path that led to the top of the mountains.
Plants clung to the rocky soil of these high northern plateaus as well as they could ... their function being to allow other species to survive.
Unnamed lives, modest and without status ...
…that so many walkers, too eager to admire the grand sight of the landscape, were trampling;
…that so many artists, painters and photographers, who adhere to a conventional hierarchy of arts and beauty, passed over;
…that so many scientists, who are interested in life on the planet, were limited to describing in imposing textbooks reserved for scholars - preferred rather to be interested in species ennobled by the hierarchical manner than of human thought.
Sometimes children looked at them with curiosity and reached out to pick a little fruit ... But they were immediately reminded by adults not to touch them: they could be poison!
One day, a walker who passed by, noticed these small microcosms of plants and lichens inextricably linked. Amazed by this living chaos, he lay face down on the ground to take better pictures.
"Are you a photographer? "... our walker thought he heard in his subconscious.
No, not really, he replied, surprised and confused. I am simply a poet.
