This is a device to hold sheet film in a daylight tank, like the "taco method" (gently bent and held in that curve with rubber bands) but in a more reliable way. Not everyone uses the spiral tanks I use, so I worked out a version for the Patterson tank system, with the center (centre?) column

June 8, 2012 - "Beyond Compliance Costs: The Other Economic Impacts of Regulation" - Penn Program on Regulation held a conference in Washington, D.C. to discuss the wider financial and economic costs and benefits of regulation. Participants acknowledged that, despite popular belief, the impact of a majority of regulation on employment can be actually fairly negligible, with a myriad of implications not investigated to their utmost. The workshop included a variety of perspectives from the fields of law, politics, government, economics, agriculture, and many others. Possible solutions were offered, including the possibility of an external body to do employment impacts on regulation. Participants included Cary Coglianese, Edward B. Shils Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of Penn Program on Regulation; Adam Finkel, Executive Director, PPR; Adriana Kugler, Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of Labor; Ron Shadbegian, Economist for Benefits Assessment and Methods Development Division at the National Center for Environmental Economics, US EPA; Sandra Hoffmann, Senior Economist at Food Economics Division of the USDA Economic Research Service; Michael Toffel, Associate Professor at Harvard Business School; Al McGartland, Director of the National Center for Environmental Economics at US EPA; Wendy Wagner, Joe A. Worsham Centennial Professor at the University of Texas School of Law; Richard Williams, Director of Policy Research at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University; John D. Graham, Dean of Indiana University's School of Public & Environmental Affairs, Former Administrator at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs; Richard Morgenstern, Senior Fellow at Resources for the Future; Michael Livermore, Executive Director of the Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU School of Law; Clifford Winston, Senior Fellow of Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution.

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

Droplet trapping is a method I accidentally discovered for trapping beetles and little else. Water from rain or other sources beads up on new polyethylene sheeting and the droplets suck in small beetles and keep them trapped via surface tension, Incidentally, the lighting effects make for some great macrophotography. Trapped and photographed on my cloud forest property, Cosanga, Napo, Ecuador, ~2100 meters elevation.

This soap is slightly overpriced, but it smells nice. Needed to refill some soap containers, thought it may make for an interesting shot! Thanks to my assistant, Kristin for pouring the soap while I fired away.
One SB-28 fired through umbrella to left of camera @ 1/32, WB set to flash. This image is pretty much unedited, except for a slight crop off the bottom.
the trick seems to be lay leaf on its side not dug in with tip up.. or my personal success rate has been ... greater if the leaf lays on its side with it lightly under the top of the soil. I would love to hear what is working for others...
