Happy birding 💧

Shrimp fishing on horseback has existed on the Belgian coast since 1510, according to historical archives. The fishing method, in which a horse pulls a net, was spread along the entire North Sea where the gently sloping beach allowed this. Since 2013, this old fishing method is Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage.

By three methods we may learn wisdom

* First by reflection,

which is noblest.

* Second by imitation,

which is easiest.

* Third by experience,

which is the bitterest.

I have been in a rather dark mood here recently. And during this week, I was listening to the music that I have a link to above on Youtube. I find Secession Studios music to be so emotional...And it brought to my mind a particular statue that I have in SL. So then I was frantically rummaging through my SL inventory....and once I found "Lady of Death"-- I quickly rezzed her... and this is what my mind saw.....

The shooting basic method for shooting fireworks.

One is wide to standard angle lens used, long exposure shooting.

One other is middle to long zoom lens used, During long exposure into change the focus.

This time, I choosed the latter shooting method.

GR III #3: "GR" for GReen ;-) Another one from the (masked) family walk around one of Berlin's most beautiful lakes, the Krumme Lanke. Some lush green, before I'll continue with new architecture from Berlin's inner city (the "cube berlin") next week. I hope this isn't too

vivid and colourful, I know that on some monitors, and especially smartphone or tablet screens, this will probably look much brighter and very vivid, but on my monitor it's just right (yes, I know there are devices / methods for monitor / colour calibration, but... and it's also for Sliders Sunday, so...). Regarding the sliders, I HRDified this in Aurora HDR, tweaked the "Orton Clean" Glow filter in ON1 to my liking, and also tweaked the colours. As I'd mentioned in my description for my previous picture, I must have used "Highlight Weighted Metering" for all the photos I took on that walk, because the bright, sunny and cloudless sky was never blown out, and all the shadows and dark tones were way too dark, but as usual it's always easier to brighten the shadows and dark tones in post, and I was pleasantly surprised at the remarkably clean details and bright tones I was able to get out of the dark areas of the GR III's RAW files.

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe, stay healthy :-)

European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) were introduced to Australia in the 18th century with the First Fleet and eventually became widespread. Such wild rabbit populations are a serious mammalian pest and invasive species in Australia causing millions of dollars of damage to crops. Their spread may have been enhanced through the emergence of strong crossbreeds. Various methods in the 20th century have been attempted to control the Australian rabbit population. Conventional methods include shooting rabbits and destroying their warrens, but these had only limited success. In 1907, a rabbit-proof fence was built in Western Australia in an unsuccessful attempt to contain the rabbits. The myxoma virus, which causes myxomatosis, was introduced into the rabbit population in the 1950s and had the effect of severely reducing the rabbit population. However, the survivors have since adapted and partially recovered their previous numbers. 5649

BRUNO: "Hit the bump one more time, dear Scout! I'm almost done, but better safe than sorry!"

I thought doing a more scenic capture would be different for me, I liked the greens around the mushroom. I stacked 56 images Method B in Helicon. I wanted that Bird's Nest just to the viewers left of the toadstool in focus.

The sound of music.

There was no EXIF data as I focused stacked four shots.

But here is the info: Nikon D4s 105mm Nikon lens, natural light 300 ISO, F3.8 I will always try to include camera settings and if you want to know more about this shot or any other of mine I would be happy to explain my methods. If you like what you see please consider following me ☺️

Per my friend, hjsyourcpa, I tried to bring out a bit more detail in the sky by applying a multiply blend layer to the sky only (masked out the rest) in order to bring out the detail.

If anyone has another method, I'd love to try it also. I think this helped quite a lot.

?

Thanks so much hjsyourcpa...great feedback!!!

Many fires, the last in 1955, have devastated Bryggen's characteristic wooden houses. Reconstruction has been carried out using traditional patterns and methods, leaving the main structure intact. It is a relic of an old wooden urban structure that was once common in Northern Europe.

in spain, the vibrancy of the vegetable markets reflects a deeper truth about the produce: here, vegetables donât just look different, they offer a sensory experience unlike any other. the tomatoes are a deeper red, the peppers more vividly hued, and the greens appear lusher, telling tales of the rich, sun-soaked soil from which they spring. this intensity of colors is matched by flavors more robust and nuanced. thanks to the generous spanish sun and traditional farming methods, the natural sugars in these vegetables intensify, giving them a sweeter, fuller taste. it's a testament to the country's agricultural heritage, where the quality of produce is a point of national pride. i made this shot on the weekly (sundays) market in the beautiful roman village of pollenca.

We've been having fantastic early spring weather here in the South of the UK lately, so I've been taking advantage of getting out as early as possible to get some shots during the golden hour. This morning there was SPECTACULAR light with beautiful shadows, mist lifting and clouds drifting. And it was quite cold. Couldn't ask for more! :)

This is a panorama of multiple images, shot using the Brenizer method in 665nm Infrared.

Hope you like it! :)

Straight from Central Cats-ing? :-)

At first, I honestly thought this cat was simply a cardboard cutout and couldn't believe my luck when I saw he/she was real and not just part of the decorations, ha ha. And only on zooming in to crop, did I see 'that look' :-) I wonder if he/she is on contract to sit just like that for the next 3 weeks - being paid in yummy crunchies by the looks of it :-)

(Slight pun re 'lucky' timing, since I've personally always thought a black cat brings GOOD luck not bad.)

I always struggle with photography on bright, sunny days. So recently, I decided to address this issue which needed an adjustment in my approach. My decision was to work on focus stacking and getting the camera much closer to the foreground. These rocks were merely 10cm from the front element of the lens so I needed to take 7 shots in total to get everything as pin sharp as possible all the way through the image. Blending was still trick and there are small mistakes but I think I am pleased with the final result nonetheless. Taken on the coastline of Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.

Another from last summer. After many years a Notocactus Leninghausii from my collection finally bloomed. A 32-image handheld focus stack in late-day light. Stacked using Helicon Focus, (method B_R4-S2). In hindsight, I will use a tripod next time — too many artifacts.

Mumu is a traditional method of cooking large quantities of food, usually a pig and vegetables, for celebrations in Papua New Guinea. It is a shallow earthen pit oven that operates by heating stones which are subsequently put into or arranged around the food, covered with banana leaves and dirt to insulate the underground oven. Cooking a pig may take up to 12 hours.

lamb bhuna recipe www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKjk3gEi8PI

the meaning of 'bhuna'

an Indian dish or sauce in which spices are dry-roasted in a pan and then combined with a moistening agent such as yogurt or water.

the word 'bhuna' refers to the cooking method of this dish, and means 'to fry' or 'fried'. usually the spices are fried gently, before adding the meat.

originating in bengal, bhuna is a hot curry and doesn’t come swimming in sauce. it’s usually a thick sauce, with just enough to cling to the meat.

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...

i've created a group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...

My first bake from Chainbaker videos I've been watching the past few weeks.

I was all excited to try it and followed instructions and measurements exactly.

My sister declared the loaf "epic" from this photo of it ... but, ... a couple of hours after this..the crust looked all wrinkly...and, the inside was a disaster. I was almost too embarrassed to show it... but, it's always an experiment with bread it seems.

And, so, in the interest of science ...I show my disaster in the photo beside this one.

The crust is pretty much detached from the crumb... a huge air space showed up about 2/3 of the way into the loaf.

Such a disappointment.

The only redeeming feature in my mind is the flavour and actual texture of the crumb.

Amazing really. It makes great toast... but, don't try putting on anything where that gaping hole is... it'll dribble right through....

oh, well.... there's always next time...... and, next I'm doing the Cheesy buns...... can't go wrong with cheese and buns....

Nachdem ich im Internet ein tolles Foto mit mehreren Zebras, mit der ICM-Methode fotografiert, gesehen habe, wollte ich dies auch einmal versuchen. Hier das Ergebnis.

What a day! Everything I touched went wrong! Last night the television decided to start turning itself off and on every few seconds. This morning I went for a walk with Lizzie - my son's lovely girlfriend. Took my camera with the intention of trying out the new lens only to realise that the battery was dead! Luckily, we were only a couple of hundred yards from the house so back we went to get a fresh one. The first time I tried to take a photo I was horrified to realise that I hadn't put a memory card in. Then we took a wrong path and had to return the way we had come - but that did allow this view.... Got home and made some coffee, only to have the coffee machine throw a half filled mug across the worktop!! It then became apparent that there was something wrong with little Baxter - he was terribly uncomfortable and agitated. After an hour or so of him not settling, Peter called the emergency vet and we met her at the surgery. It cost us £100 to be told there was nothing wrong with him, so now I feel that I over-walked him to breaking point!! There were a couple of other things that were equally annoying and I will be very glad to see tomorrow....
