Some modern metallic creations in the centre of Yeovil in Somerset. The words on the base read 'Labore et Industria' which in Latin means Labour and Industry. Maybe a tribute to those in the town that worked in the aircraft and defence industries, the largest of which was Westland Aircraft which was located in the town.
Quickie review of these four... The two Barbies are super cute, I love their faceups and sculpts. Barbie's lipstick is the perfect red and this Raquelle is one of THE prettiest Raquelles in living memory. I like the tinsel strands on their heads, gives the hair some dimensionality & contrast. The girls are very close to the protos on the box. Raquelle's half bodice is a solid piece of plastic that snaps on and off her dress giving her two different looks. Same with Barbie's belt. Both girls are wearing rings, but not earrings and they each have plastic molded purses. The dresses are nicely designed but they’re half patterned like most of the playline Barbie dresses this season. The disappointment for me is that the Barbies torsos do not have bust joints like most of the Fashionistas .They are articulated everywhere else. I would gladly pay a few more bucks for a Fashionista with bust joints but as occasionally happens, Mattel giveth and Mattel taketh away. Ken and Ryan have the usual Ken Fashionista bodies with the straddle hips but no knee or ankle joints. They have elbow and wrists joints however. Ryan’s pants are decorated but only the front pieces not the back. Ryans faceup is very nice and my favorite of the two. Ken’s faceup disappointed the most, since it looks nothing like the prototype. I bought the Barbies at TRU for $12.99 each, the boys were from Target and they were $10.99. I’ve seen the Barbie at Target so far but not Raquelle. So who's thinking of getting any of these?
Metallic Christmas decorative ribbon. A closeup view where the ribbon catches some of the warm yellow lighting.
This dress has a gorgeous bright pink color and awesome metallic shine. I combined it with a black waist belt and black stockings that match my dark hair. Pure pink Paula pleasure!

This young woman was with a group of friends, but she had by far the best suit -- sparkly silver! She dove in and swam around in the rough water. I complimented her on her swimming and awesome suit.

There are plenty of metallic beetles, but I had never seen a metallic weevil before. Definitely one of my faves!

I have always loved to wear satin shorts in summer and recently I bought some metallic shorts as well, including these golden ones. They are very comfortable and look beautifully shiny and I love wearing them! I combined the shorts with a golden top that I already had and they match perfectly to make an all golden outfit.

A Metallic Starling meticulously maintains its nest, a delicate structure woven tightly into a bustling canopy of dozens of other nests in the colony.
Both the metal and the wooden post are well and truly weathered!!
