This outfit looks like a dress but it’s in fact a combination of a leotard, a separate skirt and a bow belt to blend them together. It has a fantastic metallic shine; nice and tight at the top and free and loose at the bottom with the flaring miniskirt, which shimmers magnificently in many shiny folds.

- This female dragonfly (Libellula depressa) landed on my garden table, I grabbed my camera and did take a picture from behind. When I walked around to the front she did fly away.
- Libellula depressa, the broad-bodied chaser or broad-bodied darter, is one of the most common dragonflies in Europe and central Asia. It is very distinctive with a very broad flattened abdomen, four wing patches and, in the male, the abdomen becomes pruinose blue.
The male and female have a broad, flattened abdomen which is brown with yellow patches down the sides. In the male the abdomen develops a blue pruinosity that covers the brown colour. Both fore and hind wings have a dark patch at the base. Both the male and female have broad antehumeral stripes. The average wingspan is approximately 70 mm.
L. depressa is found in central and southern Europe, central Asia and the Middle East.
L. depressa is seen near still-water lakes and ponds, feeding on many types of small insects. They occur in both bare and sunny locations, where it is often the first dragonfly to colonise new habitats such as newly created ponds, and well vegetated ponds.
The flight period is from April to September but are mostly seen in May and June. Their flight is very fast as they dart and dive above the water. They are very territorial and will fight with rival males and any other dragonflies they happen to encounter.
They characteristically return to a favoured perch, in the sun. When a female enters a male's territory the male will fly up and grab the female. Mating occurs on the wing and the pair are in tandem for only a brief period, often less than a minute.

- Libellula depressa (platbuik)
trying to create a metallic effect again with this one so used black & white but played about with the contrast

I love shiny clothes so this green metallic dress is perfect for me. I combine it with a sparkly green necklace and matching shiny green pumps. The metallic waistbelt with cute bow I made myself, and the different green colour gives a nice extra touch to my outfit.

A small metallic green bee on an old wooden log at my brother-in-law's place in Brigham, QC, Canada. There were many simillar bees there and they were burrowing into/nesting inside the logs - more shots upcoming. I believe this is a Sweat Bee, and possibly Augochlora pura, though confirmation/infirmation would be welcomed!
Vivitar Series 1 105mm F/2.5 Macro plus Raynox DCR-250 and off-camera Yongnuo YN-560 III. About 2:1 plus a moderate crop. I would put this bee at about 10-12mm long.

This was an interesting experience, these Metallic Starlings are actually pillaging this nest for materials. I watched dozens of birds have a go at this nest, tugging at the top part of the nest before it eventually fell to the ground, where the birds continued to take materials for their own nests.
The metallic starling, also known as the shining starling, is a bird in the starling family native to the Moluccas, New Guinea, Queensland and the Solomon Islands
J-2304 is one of several Mirage 3CS aircraft that the Swiss acquired from Dassault in the 1960s. But the procurement programme was dogged with controversy and huge cost overruns.
This particular aircraft was eventually preserved at Montelimar in France - as I witnessed in 2019.

14. And here they are. See how easy that was!? I left the gold faceted bead at top somewhat matte...I didn't buff it very hard.
The rainbow doughnut www.flickr.com/photos/34443858@N07/5253667042/in/photostr... was done the same way as these but I made an effort to make my slices in the same direction.
