Bermondsey Underground Station, London, England

Another image from my current favourite station at the moment. This was located at the end of one of the platforms where no one seemed to congregate when waiting for trains. I am not sure if its the slight claustrophobic nature of this part of the platform that make people avoid this area or the fact it only goes down to a fire escape, I suppose I won't know but I felt it made a great image. What caught my eye mainly was the symmetrical nature but also the reflections in the platform barriers, if there was a train there I don't think it would have worked as well hence no train.

In other news I will be visiting Bristol soon, any tips or recommendations on places I should go and take images of while I am there?

Hope you are all having a good week so far and again will catch up with your photostreams today.

Information

Bermondsey tube station is a London Underground station. It is situated in the eastern part of Bermondsey in the London Borough of Southwark, and so also serves the western part of Rotherhithe.

The station itself was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects and was originally intended to have a multi-storey office building sitting on top. London Underground have yet to realise this second phase of the scheme.

It is on the Jubilee Line, having been built as part of the Jubilee Line Extension between London Bridge and Canada Water stations. It is notable for its extensive use of natural light. The main station entrance is situated on the south side of Jamaica Road. The station is in Travelcard Zone 2.

The station was opened on 17 September 1999.

Like its extension counterparts, Bermondsey station was designed with a futuristic style in mind by Ian Ritchie Architects. Extensively using natural light, it is built in both a cut-and-cover and tube design. The cut-and-cover section is supported by latticed concrete beams allowing light to penetrate to the platform level. The escalators down to this area are lined by flat concrete with a high ceiling to give a feeling of spaciousness. The bored section is encased with metal to keep in line the futuristic and metallic theme of the extension. As with all other deep level stations on the Jubilee Line Extension, Bermondsey station has platform edge doors for passenger safety and comfort.

I found this Dogbane Leaf Beetle (Chrysochus auratus Fabricius) in my garden today and ran back into the house to grab my son's camera with macro lens, hoping the beetle would still be there. The colors seem to change as you view it from different perspectives. See my reflection on its back? ... lol.

Whut??? :S

Someone had fun making this whirl-a-gig.

Wishing you all a Happy and Creative 2017!

I believe this is correctly named? Was intrigued by its large hind yellow legs, which | assume was collected pollen, to take back to its young.

My outfit matches the metallic blue colour of the car:

blue necklace, blue dress and even metallic blue heels.

Bigtree 4 1/4 inch heels. Part of survey of all my shoes, old and new, perfect and worn out. Warts and all as Cromwell said.

[Ecuador Dec 2021] Probably should be named seafoam-green tanager. Tandayapa Eco-Lodge San Jorge.

This was meant to be a film test!

Bigtree 4 1/4 inch heels. Right one got squashed in transit from China due to insufficient protection but I hope in time it will come out as time passes. Part of survey of all my shoes, old and new, perfect and worn out. Warts and all as Cromwell said.

trying to create a metallic effect again with this one so used black & white but played about with the contrast

I wouldn't like to fall into this one by accident.....

I love shiny clothes so this metallic miniskirt is perfect for me. It's very comfortable to wear on this warm sunny day, and I love the glamorous metallic shine on the folds of the fabric. Very glitzy also when the skirt moves, for example when I walk or play with it in my hands. The bright red color is amazing and the skirt is short enough to also show my legs and bright red stockings well, including a nice peek of my lacy stocking tops. Sensual yet also with elegance and style, just the way I love it most.

So much better than Corsa!

I love shiny clothes so this green metallic dress is perfect for me. I combine it with a sparkly green necklace and matching shiny green pumps. The metallic waistbelt with cute bow I made myself, and the different green colour gives a nice extra touch to my outfit.

A fly on the mint flower in my garden. Macro photography has helped me to gain a new respect for flies. They are fascinating animals which come in many different colours. This one looks more like some kind of artificial fly robot than like a living being due to the metallic green/blue colouring of the body.

I've had this fireplace tool for years. A friend crafted it and gave it to me for a gift. I love the twist of the handle. HMM!
