Mi sono messa a immaginare come mi sarebbe piaciuto vivere quel momento. Mi sarebbe piaciuto essere piena di gioia, curiosa, felice. Vivere intensamente ogni istante, dissetarmi con l'acqua della vita. Avere di nuovo fiducia nei sogni. Essere capace di lottare per ciò che desideravo. Avere un uomo che mi amava.
Si, era davvero questa la donna che avrei voluto essere e che, all'improvviso, compariva e si trasformava in me.
Ho sentito la mia anima inondata della luce di un Dio, o di una Dea, in cui non credevo più. E ho percepito che, in quel momento, l'Altra abbandonava il mio corpo e si sedeva in un angolo della piccola camera. Io guardavo la donna che ero stata sino ad allora: era debole, ma fingeva di essere forte. Aveva paura di tutto, ma diceva a se stessa che non si trattava di paura, bensì della saggezza di chi conosce la realtà. Costruiva pareti intorno alle finestre da cui penetrava la gioia del sole, affinché i suoi mobili non si sbiadissero.
Ho visto l'Altra seduta nell'angolo della camera, fragile, stanca, delusa. Controllava e schiavizzava quello che avrebbe dovuto essere sempre libero: i sentimenti. Tentava di giudicare l'amore futuro in base alla sofferenza passata.
L'amore è sempre nuovo. Non importa che amiamo una, due, dieci volte nella vita: ci troviamo sempre davanti a una situazione che non conosciamo. L'amore può condurci all'inferno o al paradiso, comunque ci porta sempre in qualche luogo. È necessario accettarlo, perché esso è ciò che alimenta la nostra esistenza. Se non lo accettiamo, moriremo di fame pur vedendo i rami dell'albero della vita carichi di frutti: non avremo il coraggio di tendere la mano e di coglierli. È necessario cercare l'amore là dove si trova, anche se ciò potrebbe significare ore, giorni, settimane di delusione e tristezza.
Perché, nel momento in cui partiamo in cerca dell'amore, anche l'amore muove per venirci incontro.
E ci salva.

About 2 years ago i did a frosting shoot with julia that I wasn't to happy with. In the time since then I have improved a great deal with my knowledge and I always wanted another crack at the shoot. Lucky for me Julia was game as well. Since it was the weekend I arranged with Julia to do a full day of shooting. I took a drive to san diego bright and early. Julia's new apartment was quite amazing but the area we were going to shoot in was quite small. I made due with the small space and we got to work making a mess. This time around i wanted a tad bit more drama in the lighting but nothing to extreme. I also had another chance to use my foldable softbox. Julia was really on her game today and it seemed like every shot was a keeper. This was quite a fun and tiring day filled with plenty of photoshoots. I can't wait to do it again.

I took these photos of my Niece back in 2016 and promised her I would find a way of merging them!! I was up until midnight last night but I did it!!!
Havana
Our guide was worried that my photos would represent Havana in a bad light. That certainly is not my intent. I hope I am showing the city evenhandedly. There are problems yes, but the people are kind, friendly, and happy. Havana is so unique with a personality and beauty all its own.
