This blue gate have always attract me by the mess that the plants and flowers do during the Spring and Summer.
Pink and white bougainvilleas blooming and mixing above the gate, hydrangeas inside the gate in the same situation. And the Crown-of-Christ forms a hedge throughout the property, extending for a few kilometers by the side of the road.
It has an air of abandonment and I imagine it must be a property for holidays or weekends, but I like to see nature showing off without interference.
Sorry for the bad focus. The day was cloudy at the time and I was in the other side of the road.

Continuing to wander aimlessly through my thousands of photos. This shot was taken 14 years ago along the shore of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. Just some minnows swimming around in the shallow water among multi-colored rocks.
Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Life with Autism can be a challenge. What is supposed to be in focus is not. What is in focus is rare, but intense. It can be chaotic, sublime, frustrating, and beautiful all at the same time. I encourage you all to look with your heart and not your eyes to see the beautiful mess that is contained in these people on the spectrum.

A minor derailment on the Gallup sub has the majority of eastbound low priority getting parked all the way to Seligman in an effort to single track through the Z's. Poor stack train was still trying to make it through Winslow after the major derailment the week before. Sucks to be an S train.

The beautiful Lago di Carezza which is perhaps one of the most beautiful lakes in the world - surely? With it's crystal waters and backdrop it's truly a sight to behold and no wonder so popular.
I persuaded my husband to drive me the hour and a half from our accommodaton at 5am to get this picture. To say he wasn't too excited about this prospect is an understatement! However, it was the only photography time I asked for on our holidays so he relented. We had a good hour or so here without a soul around us. He said he quite happily sat on the bench and drank in the view whilst I messed on with my camera! I'd annoyingly forgotten my filter ring and had to hold my filters in front of the lens so I did only get one or two shots
Just being here was worth it though. My fourth visit but by far the best without the all the people; so tranquil.
An evening left on my own, a few glasses of wine and time to mess around in photoshop, this was one of the results.

Conversion to b&w in nik silver efex and then used a mask with a grad from the top and bottom inverted to allow the colour in the buildings
The Beautiful Mess that is the world right now...we don't know quite where to draw our attention with the constant news cycle and sense of pain and suffering all around. It's difficult to focus on the beauty of things and the way the light comes through when you are consumed with it. Joy is an act of resistance indeed!
I watched Le Havre by Aki Kaurismäki last night (one of my very favorite directors) and I became a little more hopeful about people even though it's not a documentary. On Criterion Channel and highly recommended.
