When the thing you are supposed to photograph is not that inspiring....

But it was a lovely night - unseasonably warm and still.

Explored!

This beautiful aquarium at the Toronto Pearson Airport caught my eyes and blew my mind away the first time I saw it. It was the most beautiful mess I had ever seen. Whenever I see it it reminds me of asteroids and the Cosmic Mess......

One of my favourite ways of playing is messing around with the Masters - this is a bit of fun with Salvador Dali

Broken Arrow, OK woke to a nasty mess, nothing to stop travel but definitely slow it down, freezing rain and sleet now just a cold day ahead.

Roslyn, WA.

I took this picture last summer in Roslyn. This yard was a real mess, but interesting at the same time.

HDR from 3 hand-held exposures. I usually don't accept halos in my HDR photographs; in this case, given the high contrast between sky and roof, it was hard to avoid without flattening the cool sky... so I decided to live with it for this one time. I will probably reprocess it later on when time permits.

Still busy. The holidays sucked away all my photography, processing and Flickr time. Will be going through your stream before night falls.

When you first look, there is a lot of mess around this barn and feed lot. But in the midst of the cluttered chaos, a couple of horses and a few cows lend a calmness as they live out their short lives. Life is often like that, a lot of messes interrupted by small times of quietness and rest.

this is "a twisted mess" (part 1)

went back to this location as I love how every time I go to this pier it has been destroyed a little bit more. although I don't want it to get completely washed away because it is one of my favourite locations, it is always good to get a different end result. thanks for viewing and please leave a comment if you have time :)

Beautiful Mess

Nina June

Somebody warn me, honey, I knew

Here in the quicksand I lay down with you

Sand through my fingers, time is our gold

As our story unfolds

You move like a whisper, gentle and kind

Your strength is a river, deep and entwined

I bend like a willow, I sprang from your dreams

Nothing as it seems

The world above and right below us

The rules we make to love beyond the borders

We are such a beautiful mess

What a wondrous world to lay our heads to rest

We've never been this honest

It was our only promise

When we turned into this beautiful mess

I’ve spent years trying to shoot snow gum trees…in snow. Last year, we sat for four hours in traffic, just outside of Jindabyne, only to be turned back along with hundreds of other cars. Hugely disappointing. I read it’s happened again only this weekend.

So, instead, we drove for seven hours, over the border into Victoria, drove straight up to the carpark at Falls Creek, went for a stroll in heavy fog and snow, found some trees, and shot them. Easy Peasy! Love Victoria High Country.

Hope you like ”Beautiful Mess”

Cheers, Mike

Wild Mustered full of seeds.

This was shot looking into a light store the window of which provided the scrambled montage you see here. It rather reminds me of the state the world is in these days.

Just messing on a wet Friday night

Wishing I was in a hot, dry desert. Just to make a bit of a change.

This Wood Duck Drake in his finest Spring attire is rebuffed by the fair maiden. Perhaps a more subtle approach would have served him better.
