I came across this trick/method in another photo in the stream of Viejito
You just have to make the photo 2:1 ratio and add the tag "equirectangular". ...and then this happens (& click on the picture with mouse and you can drag it!)
I'm going to use this for the "Wide angle" category in 123 photos in 2023 as I dont have a wide angle lens but this gives that sort of feel.

The Bears - Fun Fun Fun
Just another frame of this fabulous catch arriving at its destination last summer. I am partial to vertical shots and I just kind of like the tangled mess of wires in this one.
With 45 minutes left before they go on the law South Shore Freight crew PF11 wheels around the curve at Bailey near MP 46.1, arriving at their destination with just enough time to pull the train in, cut away the power, and hop in the truck back to the shops to tie up.
The four unit set of South Shore units (SD38-2s 804 and 805 sandwiching GP38-2s 2002 and 2005) have 123 steel BNSF system hoppers of met coal from Fording British Columbia bound for Arcelor Mittal's Burns Harbor steel mill complex that spreads out for miles north of the tracks.

I have a cheap little Panasonic point-and-shoot camera that has been converted to infrared. The truth is I hardly use it, more because I tend not to think about it than because I hate the results it produces. So I took it out yesterday in addition to one of my big cameras and it produced a couple of shots that I quite liked. When you process an IR image you usually start out by swapping the red and blue colour channels in Photoshop (not as difficult as it sounds, takes 20 seconds) and then you may or may not convert it to B&W. That was the route I took with this one. I messed around with it in Nik Silver Efex Pro and somehow arrived at this. It’s still a mystery as to what I did to get this grainy mess but the more I looked at it the more it grew on me. Im sure the good citizens of Flickrland will soon convince me of my awful mistake in posting it but they always say “if YOU like it then you should post it”… 😂
A ‘mess’ of marine iguanas seem comfortably relaxed on the sharp rocks of Punta Suarez.
(A fact to file away for the pub quiz- a “mess” is the collective noun for a group of iguanas)

Just playing with the Fuji XT2
I have shot this before on the Nikon D800, so whilst I was in the area last week I thought id grab a chance to play with the Fuji on low light.
Ive not actually set the Fuji up for low light before and it wasn't that hard to put her into manual mode. i roughly knew what the settings would or should be for the shot. I have read that its tricky to focus in low light as there is no focus scales on the lenses but not tried it yet, guess I should go out in the garden and try!
I'm happy with the outcome, yes if you crop to 100% its not as sharp as the Nikon but its not going to be. I think the Fuji is growing one me slowly :)
Thanks for looking

The empty pizza pan with remains of leftover homemade pizza we enjoyed for lunch and rainbows—a beautiful mess (to me anyway)

Pokey loves toys! The problem is, as soon as he gets a new one, his goal is to remove the squeaker and as much stuffing as he can in the shortest amount of time possible. This new green dragon, only lasted 4 minutes 26 seconds. We end up buying new toys for him every time we go out - which isn't so bad, because he loves them so much. I just wish I could teach him to clean up his mess!
Thank you so much for so many kind comments on the fishing nets images. I didn't want to engage in visual over load, but I do like to show my trips in chronological order. The reason being is that if others are planning a similar trip then they have the beginning of an itinerary. My objective is also to showcase the beauty of an area.
We are now back to wonderful lily pond found on the grounds of the Old Harbour Hotel in Kochi.Lily ponds are often filled with so many plants and leaves floating on the surface, but to me nothing is quite so beautiful as this mess created by nature!
I got a text from some little tattletale that some of the little bears were having an adventure, but when I saw where they were, I thought it was an opium den! OH NO!!
I HAD to ask when they got home because I was SO worried.
"So . . . where have you guys been?" I asked.
"Oh, just out, Mama," said Freya.
"Well, you are going to have to do better than that, you four. Have you been to an opium den?" I started to cry.
"Oh, Mama! Why every would you think that?!! Of course we have not been to an opium den!"
"Then where have you been, and what is in that silver box that Pip has? I have been sick with worry."
Four little bears giggled.
"Oh my! You DO have a big imagination, Mama! What is an opium den, anyway?! We have been to a new tea room- very modern and relaxing, and it's just for tiny bears!! Pip has tea in the little silver box! It's special, and we bought it there so we could bring it home and share it with you!"
"I am SO sorry I doubted you! A Mama always worries! I love you so much!" I said, as I got four little hugs.
"We love you, too, Mama! We are good little bears, so don't worry!"
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday!

My lovely friend, Bev, who makes the wonderful little tents that I love so much has ALSO made all the cushions and tiny pillows for the tiny bears! She can make ANYTHING!
