I belong to a Lomo and toycamera enthusiasts group called Lomomanila and last Saturday, we had an activity called the Holga Witch Project -- a toy camera shoot with costumed models (mostly friends/volunteers).
We went around UP and took shots of them. My main camera that day was a Holga. But my prints aren't ready yet.
For the first time, my LCA took a backseat to the Holga. I just figured it's about time I played with the H more. I hope to God that I got at least ONE nice Holga shot.
In the meantime, here are my LCA shots (Fuji Sensia 100 slide film xpro). These are my favorites from the roll.

These make the perfect baby gifts/message boards in the office. This was made with a recycled frame. The urn makes for a perfect chalk/eraser holder.

Last week there was some fuzz in the Dutch press, about members of the Amsterdam city-council, who stated that homosexual sex in the Vondelpark should be permitted, or at least tolerated. The Amsterdam police, in response, said that they would not permit any behaviour that gave offence to innocent passers by. At such point the would certainly, "go into the bushes".
I was wondering what all this would mean for the content of the message-boards, that are placed at several entrances of the park. What would be a nice icon for this new situation? Could there be two icons? One for the do, and one for the don't side of the board?

AntiAntenna was a great little independent record label started by Belleville native Ryan Mills.
I first met Ryan when he asked about getting a way-in-advance copy I had of a godspeed you black emperor! record (I still put the exclamation at the end, I'm so fuckin' old school). Ryan came to Toronto from Belleville and hunkered down on (my) the wickedest couch anyone could have ever owned for a few months, in my Queen St. W. loft.
the AA first compilation release in late 2000 included Panic Coast, White Star Line, Gaffer, Rasing the Fawn, Static is Silver (ryan and his brother dane's band), the Vermicious Knid, Lungbutter, Kitchen and Bathrooms, and many other great bands that included many members that would go on to influence the Canadian music scene in a big way.
The label evolved and, with financial and promotional assistance from the bands, put out full length releases by Gaffer, White Star Line, Vermicious Knid, etc.(I know I am regrettably forgettig someone) and also set up a messageboard that became a great, early, central portal for independent bands making their way across the country.
Not only did the the board help coordinate shows, promote events and records, and talk about all things rock geek, it also connected bands directly with their fans, fans with fans, fans with skills, - and likely spawned any number of new bands and projects.
The label grew nice and quick for a small independent label, and the varied and collective experience of all the bands in varying facets of the industry helped propel things into an almost collective feeling for the label.
As things became bigger and more pressing, and the failure of Canadian distribution organizations like No Distribution to pay the bands the money they were owed, Ryan Mills moved focus away from the label and ventured into web design and audio mastering, using the contacts he gained working at a CD mastering and manufacturing company, as well as other people he met through his involvement in the Toronto music scene.
With the label now defunct and part of Toronto indie history, Ryan now focuses on his audio mastering business.

The casting on the grill of this truck says "Job-Rated". It has evidently worked hard for many years, even in retirement as a sign board next to the Ree Heights Post Office. Even the town bulletin board gets a day off now and then as it seems there is no news to display today. September 10, 2023.

Bold, intense and Moroccan inspired!

Such a rich looking marble magnet set. Deep shades of blues, with a hint of yellow, white and black are the colors throughout this Middle Eastern inspired set.
The paper used for this set has been up-cycled from a catalog.
