Time is running out for people from other European countries who live in Wales - adults and children alike - who risk losing their rights to live here unless they register for Settled Status by 30 June.

Swansea for Europe campaigners took this message to Swansea beach, creating a giant sand artwork measuring 50 metres by 30 metres, to mark Europe Day on 9 May.

Citizens of EU and EFTA countries who came to the UK before the end of 2020 have to apply under the UK’s Settlement Scheme by 30 June – otherwise, they will lose their rights to live and work in the UK. This is a new rule because of Brexit.

This applies to citizens from the 27 EU countries, plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein:

It includes:

•people who may have been living in the UK for decades, perhaps even before the UK joined the EU, who may not realise that they now need to register;

•children and other dependents of those affected who do not hold British citizenship;

•people who were previously granted UK permanent residence documents, which will no longer be valid after 30 June.

Edmund Sides, chair of Swansea for Europe, said:

“ We are very concerned that many people, including those who have been here for decades – and even children born here - could lose their rights to live here. The problem is that many of the people who will be affected either don’t know about Settled Status, or don’t realise it applies to them.

Some messages at a temple.

Ever seen that scene from Lord of the Rings where 'the beacons are lit'. Well, here's an example of one of those from real (albeit historical) life.

Some stranger with clumbsy thumbs tried to send out a message on my phone, even sending D'Arcy's profile (?). I caught the culprit (looked in the mirror) a pocket messager.

They also found it worthy of a photo.

This is the SAPO Codebits first quizz. The image represents a message (in portuguese) with a question that you should answer to solve the puzzle.

I thought it would be funny to carve the word "DISAPPOINTED?" into the sand since this is Cape Disappointment. What a great message to see after you've hiked a half mile to get to this beach.

I wasn't going to post this, but then I saw this image by Aaron this morning and was kind of amazed at how similar we "saw." I love that sort of thing. :-)

I am quite behind on going through images and I have to move things to my external drive before I can even begin because I'm out of room, but I was up at the König's Saturday-Sunday and have some nice shots from a lovely weekend, including my daily photos for each day. I got home yesterday evening feeling newly sick (even though I was sick last week, this is new), so I just laid around until 10pm or so, when I went to bed. I'll catch up with y'all soon enough.

In the Jewish religion, it is a centuries-old tradition to place a note with a prayer or request in the Western Wall. The Talmud teaches that all prayers ascend to heaven through Jerusalem. So, writing a prayer on a piece of paper and sticking it in the Wall is like having a continual prayer linked to the prime source.

Today, with millions of people visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem each year the cracks can sometimes get pretty packed with notes! Because of the great volume, every so often, all the notes are removed from the Wall and buried, along with other holy objects that are not being used anymore.

I didn't do the dishes right away after eating a bowl of strawberries, and I am so glad that I didn't because when I came to wash the bowl, I found this "heart", just at a time when I needed it.

A small part of my large collection of sweet messages from my best friend and other half <3 Featuring a letter and part of a gift (the handmade heart container) from our first Christmas, a note that was left on my mirror when he left for work one day, a sticky note with positive vibes for my first day of school for a semester I was really nervous for, and the box with the cutest ring in it for our 2nd anniversary. Definitely, the best messages I could have lying around giving me the best vibes and the most love.

**It definitely looks like it says, "I love you, stupid." But it really says, "I love you stupid amounts." ;)

Another photo shot with minimal lighting so my ISO is higher and I raised the exposure globally along with increasing clarity, sharpness, and decreasing the temperature and highlights.
