I thought it would be funny to carve the word "DISAPPOINTED?" into the sand since this is Cape Disappointment. What a great message to see after you've hiked a half mile to get to this beach.

A small part of my large collection of sweet messages from my best friend and other half <3 Featuring a letter and part of a gift (the handmade heart container) from our first Christmas, a note that was left on my mirror when he left for work one day, a sticky note with positive vibes for my first day of school for a semester I was really nervous for, and the box with the cutest ring in it for our 2nd anniversary. Definitely, the best messages I could have lying around giving me the best vibes and the most love.
**It definitely looks like it says, "I love you, stupid." But it really says, "I love you stupid amounts." ;)

I wasn't going to post this, but then I saw this image by Aaron this morning and was kind of amazed at how similar we "saw." I love that sort of thing. :-)
I am quite behind on going through images and I have to move things to my external drive before I can even begin because I'm out of room, but I was up at the König's Saturday-Sunday and have some nice shots from a lovely weekend, including my daily photos for each day. I got home yesterday evening feeling newly sick (even though I was sick last week, this is new), so I just laid around until 10pm or so, when I went to bed. I'll catch up with y'all soon enough.

those two guys in PayLow were friggin' hot. Obviously carpenters/etc based on their clothing and they were kidding around with each other, throwing stuff at their heads. They smelled SO friggin' good. Girls, you know what I'm talking about. Not necessarily like cologne, but aftershave and sweat and MAN. Oh Lord. I had a weak moment. I kept staring at them. Too bad I was too chicken to get a close up photo!
Postmarked 1920. The sender has written a long message in German ant the writing is so tiny it's difficult to read or translate.
Another photo shot with minimal lighting so my ISO is higher and I raised the exposure globally along with increasing clarity, sharpness, and decreasing the temperature and highlights.

When my mother passed away in 2016, I came across a large number of postcards dating back to the 1940s. My family had lived in the same Victorian house since 1912 and hence there were many discoveries to be made. Reading the postcards, the social media messages of the day, has proven interesting, not to mention nostalgic, and I put out a display at my home where family gathered after Mum's cremation. Needless to say, elderly relatives could not recall where they went on holiday in 1951! It was something to lighten the mood of the day. This one was from my Aunt Margaret and her husband Dennis to my grandmother Florence Tyrrell. I notice that it is addressed in the old fashioned way of "Mrs W Tyrrell", the "W" being my grandfather Walter.
I hope that you will enjoy these images for what they are - part of the UK's social history.
