Some kid on my street - albeit on the Caldwell side of the town line - ingeniously wished his or her mother a happy birthday by writing it in chalk on the family's driveway apron, the better for her see see it as she pulled into the driveway with her car.
The local streets have stop zone and school zone warnings written out on the streets in white paint.

A bit further along in the Arecibo Message. You can follow the full message by walking along the length of the model. This is my attempt to show the message in "4D" - as a function of not only space, but of time as well.
1679 LEGO plates were used to depict the message - each 3.2mm tall. The total length of the 4d-configuration is 5.37 meters, or 17.6 feet.

half way through our thanksgiving meal, i asked my brother if he stole one of the crescent rolls from my plate. after assuring me he did not, i resumed eating. a few hours later, dinner was over he had to get back to DC for work the next morning. a full hour after he leaves i recieve this text message. it took me about a full minute to realize what he'd done. i yelled 'son of a bitch' and just shook my head, laughing.
I'm a psychotic message horder, but my machine only has so much space and i'm lazt. Also, i'm a geek. Thusly, this is the maximum number of messages on my machine at any given time.
