The last time we saw The Merman, he was quite celebratory and gay; I guess all that decadent living has caught up with him.

Round one MANHUNT

Sadly smashed and the only image I have of this ceramic piece .Merman was based on my son John Swift whose input on this piece was valuable on more than one level, a gifted artist himself he posed, and he prepared some of the clay too!

Hartlepool Museum's Merman - affectionately known as Herman - was originally believed to be made from dried monkey parts attached to a fishtail. However an x-ray has shown the upper torso to be artificial and modelled on wire, the teeth though, are real fish teeth.

These particular types of Mermen were known as "Feejee Mermaids" and were popular tourist souvenirs in the late 1800s and were traditionally made in East Asia

A fake creature claimed to be a "merman". Apaprently many wealthy people in the 1800s paid big money to collect these, well, monstrosities.

At the beginning I want to paint a pic of merpeople, but somehow I got carried away by a document about Siamese fighting fish......well let's say, he is a merpeople-Siamese fighting fish hybrid.^^

I really love the Toon Mer-Man figure.

The hilarious Varla Jean Merman was the featured performer at this year Winter Rendezvous ski event at Stowe, Vermont. She is just amazing. Here are three shots of her during her show (left to right): singing 'I need a Fan' (parody of 'I need a Hero'), her tropical outfit, and the technique that made her famous - singing when shooting cheesewhiz into her mouth at the same time. God, I love her! LOL!

Standing on a rock overlooking Lake michigan on the point of Leelanau, MI I chanced to spot a mythological creature blending in.

I started the project with the little playmobil merman I call "Sireno". The idea was to use him and the other characters of the series for their own cuteness and/or around the water, sea, beach, aquatic... themes. But, I don't know why, these days I've felt like taking photos of my barbies instead of Sireno.

Really, I've been taking pics of any kind of toys instead of Sireno: little ponies, littlest pet shop, rabid...
