This is the view of the pool taken from my hotel room. The hotel pool is on the 4th floor and my room was on the 9th. There was a girl in a mermaid outfit that swam around and talked to people around the pool. So cool!

It's been a few years since we've been to the aquarium and we had a great time visiting it. A highlight was the Weeki Wachee Mermaids, visiting from Florida!

May River Mermaid
Here she is ā on land for a few moments to be photographed ā a beauty from out of the famous May River in Bluffton, SC. She can hang on your tree or your wall. There has been much attention lovingly paid to this girl. She has a real shell bra that ātiesā in the back, and she sports a āpearlā choker and drop earrings. Her hair is nautical looking rope and she holds a pretty shell. Her fins are hand textured. Each upper and lower eyelash has been seperately attached. She gets two separate coats of oil paint, and has been through numerous firings. A really unique piece for a gift or for yourself. "Ambassadors of the ocean": Mermaids are back at the Virginia Aquarium promoting the ocean and conservation
A ticket includes time in the Red Sea Aquarium with a guaranteed mermaid sighting, visits with land mermaids at the Ray Touch Pool and Norfolk Canyon Aquarium, mermaid story time, puppet show, musical performance and time to make a mermaid sun catcher to take home.
Mermaid Mondays run in April 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 6-9 p.m. Members of the Aquarium can purchase a ticket for $20 and nonmembers can buy one for $30.
