Sunrise at Mermaids Cove Beach.
This is a private beach of Sandaway Beach Holiday Park in Combe Martin, which is a village, civil parish and former manor on the North Devon coast about 4 miles east of Ilfracombe. It is a small seaside resort with a sheltered cove on the north-west edge of the Exmoor National Park.
You have no idea how much time I spent on drawing scale on back. And you know what? It almost disappeared after adding textures and recoloring. Dammit! :D But no, I won’t back down. I choose these tones. Hope you too…

What if a mermaid would work as a lifeguard? :D I think she could just ask some of her sea neighbors to not bother humans in the shallow water around the beach. :)

This picture literally started with that question. I just thought it would be a fun idea to put lifeguard's post in a water, but the main intention was to show that keeping sharks away could be very easy.
The mermaid is not Ariel, though, just a mermaid. :) I don't have Ariel and she looks like a cartoon character, I prefer more realistic minifigures. And my idea wasn't even about Ariel (though it would work as well, considering that she has experience in saving drowning princes), I just wanted to use that gorgeous hair piece, so they look a bit alike (but their tails are in different color). :D

Part of a local legend, in New Brighton, on the opposite bank of the Mersey to Liverpool.
There is a trail around the town of New Brighton, where five of the mermaid sculptures can be found. This one is on the promenade, and is the Mermaid of Memories.

"Classic" view of Mermaid Street in Rye, East Sussex, I took during a workshop a couple of days ago.
Almost everyone is familiar with Gold Hill in Shaftesbury – for the Hovis television ad if nothing else – but how about this? Mermaid Street in Rye, East Sussex. It has been in existence since at least the 10th century, and is a visual delight to rival any historical counterpart in England.
My photograph shows Mermaid Street at its mellow best at 9 o'clock on a summer evening. On the right is the Mermaid Inn – “unquestionably the most beautiful of all smugglers’ inns and undoubtedly one of the loveliest of all the inns in England”, declared the historian and writer Leonard Thompson in the 1940s.

Over the moors lies a mermaid.... and sitting on the horizon is The Mermaid Inn, a 17th Century Grade II Listed Coaching Inn. The Mermaid Inn as we knew it is no more, now it's a deluxe 13 bedroom holiday property, sleeping 34.
A Mothers Day trip out to see the snow covered moors and The Mermaid Inn, the place where we got engaged many moons ago, 42 years ago in fact! This year is our 40th wedding anniversary....where did the time go!! :)
The land-locked county of Staffordshire has its own mermaid folklore. Nearby Blake Mere (pool) is the site of what may be the only inland mermaid legend in England.
The Mermaid Legend.
Tradition holds that the mermaid rises from the pool at midnight to lure unwary travellers to their deaths in the dark watery depths - but only single men!. There are quite a few legends concerning the origin of the mermaid. In one, a sailor from nearby Thorncliffe fell in love with her and brought her back from the sea. In another she was originally a witch who transformed herself into a water nymph after being thrown into the pool during the Middle Ages.
