This is the time of year, with an excess of fresh local tomatoes, peaches, apples and all kinds of other fruits and veggies sitting out on the counter, these little pests are always found in the kitchen!"
Of course once I started trying to attract them to my apple-vinegar staged setup, they were all but non-existent!!

This was a fun challenge! Exploring the kitchen, I wanted to show details in something we use almost daily... our juicer. We purchased our juicer secondhand this summer and have enjoyed trying different juicing recipes. Having watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead several years ago, we were intrigued by the health benefits of juicing. We aren't disciplined enough to do a long juice cleanse, but we did try it for three days. Now, we regularly juice in the morning... apples, carrots, and ginger... and it's a great way to start our day. Though the spikes in the mesh filter basket are tiny, they are powerful.
Since I'm quite new to the group I just chose a theme from the list which I didn't participate in: Member's Choice: Found in the Kitchen
This is my first post of a photo made with my Marumi +5 DHG macro filter mounted on my 55-210 lens. Fully zoomed in it is possible to reach more than 1:1 but for this shot I kept a little bit more distance. I didn't crop.
And yes, I know this is my second post with fire but no, I'm not a pyromaniac ;).
Four different types of tea that are found in my kitchen! The contrast of shapes/colours/texture of the different teas next to each other results in an interesting macro image.
Verveine, Rooibis (red bush), Brazilian Mate and Jasmine tea!
HMM everyone!

Have a great week, dear Flickr friends. HMM!
Fresh and dried herbs are found all over my kitchen as I not only use them in my cooking, but I grow them on the kitchen window sill.
Ice cubes, countless quantities have been made and use in kitchens around the world! Have you ever look into one?

Happy Macro Monday and have a good week!
Starting a new role which means that there will be all sorts of new things to learn and understand as I adapt to a new culture and ethos but I'm genuinely looking forward to it.
I'm a passionate learner and get bored if sat still for too long and I'm constantly looking to sharpen the saw.
Today's Macro Monday theme is Found in the Kitchen, so I went for a macro shot of my knife sharpener, because it's blunt knives that you end up cutting yourself with... not sharp ones.
for Macro Mondays, three scone cutters on recipe book, reflecting the colours of a purple beaded coaster held by a helpful assistant. The largest one is smaller than 3 inches diameter.

A detail of an egg slicing device, hardly ever used but who could do without one.
I used an off-camera LED light source, camera left to light up the metal parts.
