Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens - Spring 2011

Summer McCracken of Anna, Ohio has been awarded the Richard Bere Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Summer, daughter of Jim and Elaine McCracken, just completed her first year at The Ohio State University majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Economics. She is a College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences ambassador, and a member of Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Alpha Zeta Partners, Saddle and Sirloin, the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Banquet Steering Committee, Buckeye Awakening, the Agribusiness Club, and Buckeyes Against Hunger. A 2013 graduate of Anna High School, Summer plans to pursue a career in recruitment and hiring for an agribusiness company.

The Richard Bere Scholarship, open to Agribusiness and Applied Economics majors at Ohio State, is awarded on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and potential contribution to the agricultural industry. It is one of several scholarships made available by agribusiness firms, individuals, and agricultural organizations for students interested in agribusiness, farm finance, agricultural marketing, farm management, and closely related areas.

Long, slightly upturned bill with dark tip and pinkish base. Long legs. Rich buff-brown all over. Cinnamon wing linings. Orangish stripe in wings. Breeding plumage with barring across chest. Nonbreeding plumage with plain breast." -allaboutbirds.org

McCrackens Rest is a lookout and rest area on the Southern Scenic Route overlooking Te Wae Wae Bay. Perched on the edge of the cliff you can enjoy commanding views out to sea, right across the bay to the hump ridge and mountains beyond.

One of those places everyone must pause their journey to take a moment to take in the views, and of course to take that classic travellers' photo in front of the sign.
