Max Ernst 1926
Max turned 6 this year and is starting to get some gray in his beard. He's 42 in dog years and that is about the time mine started turning gray too. At least it hasn't turned loose yet.
Happy Slider Sunday !!
Our big boy Max is a gentle giant, always willing to please, alert to our desires. Our female, Kassie, lives under the misconceived notion that she was born a princess in a canine body. I think I could write a book based on our 6 years of living with her on "How Not to Let Your Dog Get the Upper Hand". Too late for us, but perhaps of benefit to someone else. Amazingly, Max, my husband and I have all fallen victim to her claims of royalty. She rules the household and we conduct ourselves as her willing servants!

Max Pechstein.
Born December 31, 1881
Painter and print-maker.
Love the art that he created .
Max was hated by the Nazis because of his artwork.
Over 326 of his paintings were taken down from German museums.
Some of his paintings were displayed in the Degenerate Art exhibition of 1937.
That is what the Nazis called art (Degenerate Art),
That didnt fit into the mold they considered art,
Kind of ironic a degenerate philosophy of the Nazis,
Could call anything degenerate,
Especially people and great art,
Max went into seclusion in rural Pomerania.
Max made many prints,
Producing 421 lithographs, 315 woodcuts and engravings,
Max was also a teacher at the Berlin Academy for ten years,
He was dismissal by the Nazis in 1933.
He was reinstated in 1945,
Eventually Mr.Pechstein won numerous titles and awards for his work.
Max Died June 29, 1955.

“I started driving them about 40 years ago. I’m a graduate engineer and I worked overseas in aid for a long time. When I got divorced, I had to do something else for a bit. So I got into cars because I could do it. I decided to work on cars that I liked, and now I exclusively work with the Mini.
This car came my way a long time ago. It just got left with me, nobody really wanted it. When my daughter said she wanted a car, I decided to do it up. I took it to pieces and repaired it completely. She gave it back when she had no use for it, and I’ve been driving it around since; I can’t seem to let go of it. The great thing about these cars is that I can buy every part for it. These are toys, I can play with them – I can take bits out, I can change and alter anything as I like. I’m Max and I maximise Minis.”
I read a blog where it said January 14th was "Dress your pet day"... so I did for a bit of fun... with thanks to PicMonkey!
took this pic while i was teaching one of my hot shots courses. one of the tasks on my course is to shot a list of 66 things on 2 rolls on film in 3 hours. this was for a "statue". i think i am gonna remove statue from the list as there are only 2 statues in the area that we walk around in, everyone usually ends up shooting max
got 1 more dates in 2011 in brighten if anyones interested check my site for more details
Lake on T-max 400 again.
I exposed this roll a lot better. I like the first one a lot.
Possibly I should not title the photos the way I do it. In most cases it's rather technical info I give there. But of course this is not what the pictures are "about". Basically I don't like to give any title at all, but posting everything "n/t" is probably silly as well. And I'm obviosly making photos and don't feel like I want to add some serious prose writing or even lyric. This should be in the pictures itself.
Also, the only people really looking at my photos probably are photographers themself. So I think there is still a bit of value in the description.

Max likes to get under the conservatory settee cover and stretch out his full 40" length. As you can see, he hardly makes a bump... but he was underneath, as the insert shows!
He's still wearing his birthday crown from school -- two and a half months after the day. More than a few pieces of tape are keeping the darn thing together.
I like that my name is similar to Maira Kalman's
