At Casey Elementary School on Camp Casey Jan. 14, students and parents take part in the school's second annual Math Madness workshop, which aimed to build math proficiency by using games and other activities to make the subject enjoyable for youngsters. In one of those activities, for example, competing groups had to use 20 strands of uncooked spaghetti and about a yard of masking tape to create the tallest possible structure that would support a marshmallow for at least 30 seconds without collapsing. - U.S. Army photo by Pfc. Question time at the end of Maths Inspiration event, at the Theatre Royal, Bath. Event was great - particularly Simon Singh's talk on "Risks and Gambling".

 

My favorite story was about his Guardian Article about Katie Melua's lyrics on "Nine Million Bicycles", e.g. "We are 12 billion light-years from the edge" he pointed out that this wasn't right... anyhows in the end she did a version of that verse written by him.

Shortly after entering, and right before going out on the broad st bridge, there was a large area with a small house like structure. Inside we discovered somebody had written some math equation, and had written out pi to 9 decimal places.
