It was not to be for Ribble Wanderers as the came up against a very strong Southport team in the Guild Cup Final at the Lancashire FA ground.
Southport scored 2 goals in each half to take the trophy.

A first half Damien Murphy hat-trick enabled Rangers to beat 3-0 their sixth-placed visitors from Barrow and leapfrog Walney Island into second spot, three points behind leaders Galgate.
The 2020-21 season marks Carnforth's welcome return to the West Lancashire League after a spell in the North Lancashire League.

Our last few hours in England. We spent it at the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Heathrow's Terminal 3. Its a lovely lounge with excellent food and a great view, unfortunately through tinted windows. Oh well, you can't have everything! I took these photos in early Match 2025.
Playing with fire
Smoke and match are two seperate images photoshopped together for effect. The empty space to the left is intentional (might think about cropping...we'll see...the image hasn't told me one way or the other yet)

The Friday night showing of "Match Game DC" (Part of the 2011 Capital Fringe Festival) involved a LOT of alcohol among both the panelists and the audience... while I heard it was hilarious on their previous (sober) show; this one was downright hysterical.

But I'm afraid I was. I got a new toy today (tripod!) and I just had to experiment so heres the first go :)
Moving, packing, cleaning...it's the best time to evaluate why you have what you have. Matches are one way to remember a moment in time, a special occasion, a place you frequent...we all hold on to so many things for memories. I thought that I would just scan these guys and then let go. The image of these matchbooks will be enough to trigger the happy memories...
It feels good to let go of stuff...it's just stuff.
