Got this idea from a blog I read. These are old matchbook covers cut and glued to paper and then framed. Looks really cool.

another one of the photos i took for this months theme "yellow". but i took the picture outside, and the sun was shining really bright, so the fire didn't get captured so good.

anyway.

this is it.

Huge amounts of schools closed to students today as the combined forces of the NUT and NASUWT unions called strike action.

It was the usual pointless one day strike that never achieves anything, and I think this time it's over pensions and the abolishment of the national pay framework.

My union wasn't participating in the strike action so I was in a very quiet school getting on with some stuff. And it was nice really. :)

March 18, 2016 - 820 students, faculty, staff and family counted down the seconds before their sons, daughters, wives, husbands and siblings opened envelopes containing their residency assignment.

An incendiary photo for sure.

I prefer the flame in the other picture but I liked the red matchstick head on this one.

Saturday 6th February 2016 saw a Manchester City play Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Force’s photographer was on hand to take a series of images to be used in future safety briefings and also captured some images of the build up to the game.

The Manchester weather did its best to dampen the spirits of both sets of supporters and the rain poured constantly. Despite the inclement weather Leicester fans left the ground in good spirits after a win.

2018 TAG Match Delaware National Guard

Story by Spc. Michael Tanner

Soldiers and Airmen of the Delaware National Guard competed in this year’s annual TAG match at the River Road Training Site in New Castle on August 4th and 5th.

They compete against each other, both individually and with teams, to earn the right to wear the Governor’s Twenty Tab on their uniform. Only the top 20 earn the right to wear the tab.

Each competitor, using both the M16A2 rifle and the M9 pistol, must go through several shooting scenarios with different targets.

This year’s competition had a new factor added in, the weather. Day one started with rain and ended with heavy humidity. Day two provided lots of heat and humidity. The competitors took it all in stride and never wavered.

Those that earn the tab are given the opportunity to compete in the regional competition held at Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. If the competitors attain a high enough score at regionals, they will then be able to compete at the national competition held in Little Rock, Arkansas.

To end the two-day shooting event, an awards ceremony is held to honor the winners.

This year’s winners are as follows:

Playing with a Voigtlander 25mm f/.95 Micro 4/3 lens on an Olympus PEN 2. Shot wide open at f/.95 in a fairly dark room. Straight out of camera except for some film emulation in DxO Optics.

A dearth of subject matter at home in the evening, it was this, or bread and cashews in a plastic bag.

Mandy and Zac's matching tattoos say "I am my beloved's" in Hebrew (girl and boy versions).

The first really sunny day of the year so I thought I'd get out for a walk. Starting from Wildboarclough I went round via Macclesfield Forest, up and over Shutlingsloe and back to the car. Spotted this barn roof echoing the colour of the trees and thought it looked a bit nice.
