First mini book from my mini book week (more info here), made with the paper scraps you get when you cut a 8x8 square from a 12x12 paper and some masking tape. Song lyrics from a song I wrote for a concert in February.

We left when people came in for the danceclass, and found this outside. A van with loud music, camouflaged by a cloud of weed smoke, and covered in masking tape-art. I love it that people can just do this here.
Catching up with uploads. Friday, a week ago...
02/22/21: The other day on the bike tour, nature kept all aggregate states ready for us, including bizarre ice formations (in the photos, swipe ...), but above all a lot of mud. Our bikes were incredibly dirty. What I didn't know: Mud is really hard to paint.

22.02.21: Neulich auf der Radtour hielt die Natur alle Aggregatzustände für uns parat, unter anderem bizarre Eisformationen (in den Fotos, swipe...), aber vor allen Dingen viel Schlamm. Unsere Räder waren unfassbar verdreckt. Was ich nicht wusste. Schlamm ist wirklich schwer zu malen.

"3-M" died late tonight, March 13, 2008. She had become egg bound in lateJanuary - This picture was taken February 4, 2008 before I took her to the vet - I thought she might not make it then. The veterinarian was able to remove without surgery four of the eggs but he couldn't reach the rest. "3-M" went into molt about two weeks ago which further weakened her...I've been soaking her every day to help her shed...a few minutes ago, I discovered she had passed on. She was found as a hatchling on June 17, 1999 bound in masking tape near a house which was being repainted. The homeowners found the little snake and called a veterinarian who asked me to rescue it. She wasn't any bigger than a pencil. I had to soak her for three days to remove the masking tape - hence the name "3-M" after the company which made the tape. Perhaps it's fitting that tonight she died when, once again, I was soaking her to try to help her. She was a nice snake and I hope I was able to provide for her a decent life. "3-M" was a Great Basin gopher snake (Pituophis catenifer deserticola) a native of the western United States and a snake commonly found in southwest Idaho. They are extremely beneficial snakes in terms of the quantities of rodents they consume in the wild. She would have hatched the previous fall (August, 1998) so she was ten years old. She had never laid eggs before. She was able, during the past ten years, to help educate people about the role of snakes and reptiles in our ecosystems. She will be missed.
