Why not wear a mask for the ones you love?

I Went to the Ron Mueck Exhibition not so long ago, probably one of the most impressive exhibitions i have been to in a long time. The Head here is called Mask II, and is a self portrait.

Feel free to add notes of you like or don't like anything.

Quante maschere indossiamo nella nostra vita quotidiana? E che cosa proviamo quando alla sera ci togliamo il trucco e il naso finto?

How many masks we wear in our daily life? And what we feel in the evening when we take off the makeup and false nose?

"King Goblin"

Designed and folded by me (Ynon Toledano).

This mask is also designed from the base I designed in the last time...

In this time, I tried folded one of my mask from diffrent material than paper, so I choose try fold from Fabric!!

So, some words of the process:

I take a old T-shirt I had, and put on it 3 layers (I think) of mix with Silver and gold Acrylic paint, and Mc.

The result was very nice for first study, and the fabric get more rigid texture.

In the folding process I use with Iron to hold the folds, it also hold fine without iron but the hot effect give more possabilities to shape it better like wet folding... I really enjoyed with the process...

Also I make this time some small change if the shaping the crown..

you can see some photos in process in my Instagram page:

This mask is number 18 in the series.

Folded fron 40×40 cm, square of Fabric.

I'm gonna do something I usually don't do; I'm getting on a soapbox.

This is about wearing your mask when around others. I've seen a lot of people locally who either are not wearing a mask at all, or who aren't doing it correctly. Pull the mask over both your mouth and nose when you have to go into the stores, please.

The result of not wearing masks is, people continue to get sick.

My parents both worked in the medical field and had to wear masks often. And for those who think you can't breathe, that somehow you aren't getting enough oxygen... that's incorrect. Doctors and nurses don't pass out from lack of oxygen in the OR. They measure their oxygen levels with and without masks and guess what? They are the same.

The U.S. is one of the only countries that doesn't have COVID-19 under control. Wearing a mask is proven to help. The virus doesn't care one bit about your political thoughts or your skin color. It isn't about politics, it's about getting this thing under control.

We should have had this under control awhile ago, but it is getting worse in the U.S. instead.

For the record, I don't like wearing masks either, but I do it for each and every one of you.

Day 7 of Block-O-Ween. Today's theme is "Mask"

The Mask is a 1994 American superhero fantasy comedy film directed by Charles Russell, produced by Bob Engelman, and written by Mike Werb, based on the comic series of the same name distributed by Dark Horse Comics. The film stars Jim Carrey, Peter Greene, Amy Yasbeck, Peter Riegert, Richard Jeni, Ben Stein, Joely Fisher, and Cameron Diaz in her film debut. It revolves around an unlucky bank clerk finding a mask that grants the wearer cartoon-like superpowers.

"Our love is like a red, red rose.

And I am a little thorny.

Je t'adore! Je t'adore!

Shoot the window. I don't care!" - Jim Carrey, The Mask

Carved by the late Jose "Che" Luna, Huazaolotitlan, Oaxaca.
