This dog was running all around the park area near the waterfront, tennis ball clenched in his jaw, marking his land.
I was a little sad his product markings were going to go away, but they're actually still visible after the dye job.

The arc is made by marking the line from a set point some 24+ feet away. A piece of aircraft cable is used to enforce the distance, since it's less prone to stretch.
I've had this small platter for several years now and often wonder what the collection of markings and stamps mean on the back. Guess I'm not watching enought Antique Road Show programs.

It's a fine example of ancient Celtic burial modes. Where the actual grave itself is, I don't actually know, now that I think about it. I was so focused on looking at whatever was being pointed out to us that I didn't even think about the fact that it's supposed to be a tomb. So where are the bodies? In the floor beneath us? In the walls? In another chamber?
Anyway, these geometric patterns carved into the megalithic stones can be found scattered around the whole interior chamber. Their meaning, I think, remains a mystery. But they are quite distinctive of ancient Celtic markings. So, from this picture alone, you should be able to identify this site as Celtic, right?
