Sømarkedyssen is an octagonal dolmen with a very large coverstone and about 200 bowl-shaped hollows, which were considered magic signs.

 

The people above were marking each of these cups with white chalk paint, to make a record of them. The paint will wash off during the next rainfall.

 

The archæologist who was there explained that these cup shape indentations were most likely made as a symbol of fertility.

 

Møn is a great place to find ancient burial sites - there are over 170 on the island!

Through this story and the process of making a public memorial, the exhibition raises critical issues about memory, loss, place and truth--the context and questions that surround memorial-making.

The council has had poppy symbols painted on the pavements marking the way from the bus and rail stations to the Silk Mill. But no indication of which way to go.

City of Victoria fixed road markings to change bike stencils from an exclusive use lane to the appropriate "sharrows" or shared use arrows, to give clear messages to both drivers and cyclists to share the road.

 

The new markings respond to changes in traffic pattern that oblige most cyclists to use a busy and challenging section of roadway here to access the popular Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

This October 7, Jewish Milwaukee came together for an evening of hope and unity as we honored the resilience of our people, while remembering the spirit and vitality of the bright lights lost.

Remember when you were a kid and you'd lay sticks in a pattern on the forest floor to mark out the rooms of your fort? This reminded me of that, like the seagulls come here to play and this is their fort.

On Friday, January 20th, 2017 the SAS Middle School held its 2nd Quarter Award Ceremony. This is a special event in that staff and students get to celebrate a wide range of accomplishments. Awards including Best Academic, Best Citizen, Student of the Month, and Most Improved were given to deserving students. In addition, the many great students who achieved Honor and High Honor Roll were also recognized. The event was highlighted by a performance by the Middle School Step Team. Events such as this are a celebration of the many accomplishments of our students as they work to accentuate all that SAS stands for!
