Most of the shots from our garden tend to feature individual plants but this is a more general view. The light was particularly good on this late March afternoon. Rather than go inside to get my camera I took it with my phone. Its only March so much of the garden is still just emerging . The magnolia is clearly the star of the show but the daffodils can be seen near the stems of the ornamental dogwood . This is taken from about half way down the garden . I must confess that it is on early Spring days that I most enjoy the garden rather than the days of full summer , everything looks so fresh

The March Lily: the flower that says goodbye to summer.

Its botanical name is Amaryllis Belladonna, and plants of this genus have several names: Belladonna lily, Jersey lily, Amarillo and in South Africa, March lily – because it flowers around March in South Africa.

NB **SSC** Now that it's uploaded, I have realised that it's probably not close enough for full frame, but I will leave it anyway - no time to change now!!
