I took the Roanoke Valley BUS Metro map and simplifed it down to resymble the New York City Subway Metro map.

It was fun and new for me. I found it funny how it's hard for me to symplify things but really easy to make things more complex. So i was stretched in that reguard.

I used mainly the pen tool and a few symbles. I liked having to tp use dashed lines.

I have family in Escanaba.

The USGS GNIS place name database was used to make this map. It is a somewhat whimsical search for geographic patterns. It is curious how "Laurel" is found throughout the Appalachian region while "Chestnut" seems more limited to the eastern edge of the Appalachians.

Source data, USGS GNIS placename database and ESRI's state boundary data. Software, ESRI ArcGIS.

Intricate typographic map showing boroughs of London. The map can be contemplated as an abstract texture, as a location or as a series of words.

Includes Enfield in the North, Sutton in the South, Romford in the East, Southall in the West and Victoria, West End, Paddington, Soho, Marylebone, Kensington, Fulham, Parsons Green, Chelsea, Chiswick, Hampstead Heath, Holborn, Bloomsbury, Clerkenwell, Old Street, Hackney, Hyde Park, Brent Park, Hammersmith, Barnes, Richmond Park, Wimbledon, Tooting, Streatham, Norwood, Catford, Greenwich, Stratford, Clapton and more.

Prints are hand screen-printed on archival printmaking paper. Texture, deckle edge and vibrancy of colours convey an air of heritage while the character comes from slight inconsistencies in the ink levels.

Each signed and numbered by the artist

Format: 100cm x 70cm

MAPIC 2017 - CONFERENCES - MAPIC OUTLET SUMMIT - PANEL SESSION - GLOBAL MARKET OVERVIEW: HOW THE WORLDWIDE OUTLET MARKET IS EVOLVING ?

Southern Nevada Water Authority wants to drain the water from an area almost as big as the state of Vermont! They want to take water from high deserts of Rural Nevada. They will leave our valleys dustbowls. Eventually, they will drain the groundwater from the nearby mountain ranges too. One of these ranges is the Great Basin National Park.

Skiathos is a small picturesque island of 50 km2 located in the Aegean Sea, a two hour ferry ride from the Greek mainland. There are over 60 sandy beaches, including the highly acclaimed Koukounaries Beach along the coastline. Inland, pine trees abound with forests located in the southwestern and northern regions. “Boomerangers”, as they have become known, return to Skiathos island year after year and it’s easy to understand why; natural beauty with stunning views of neighbouring islands, secluded beaches even in high season, a cosmopolitan nightlife, and superb Greek and international cuisine.

Skiathos is known for its beautiful beaches and, with over 60 of them along the the 45 km coastline, you’ll never have to go to the same one twice – unless of course you want to

This is a map of the Chichen Itza complex. We didn't go to see the Sacred Cenote or the Observatory. It would have been nice, but we were hot, tired and hungry and wanted our lunch.

A map I have from roughly 1975 era. Just a quick set of photos - needs cleanup and better scan of at some point!
