1968 was the year the Victoria line opened, the first new line in 50 years, and the first major shift to the tube map in 35 years.
To celebrate the London Underground's 150th anniversary, TfL commissioned five reproductions of tube maps from different periods, all made in Lego by Duncan Titmarsh, LEGO professional. Each map took approximately 4 days to complete and contained over 1,000 bricks.
The five maps come from different periods of London Undergound's history and were held at different stations over the summer:
1927 - designed by Fred Stingemore - this would be the last iteration of the map as a geographical overlay (at South Kensington)
1933 - Harry Beck's revolutionary design - the tube map became a diagram (at Piccadilly Circus)
1968 - adding the Victoria Line - the first tube line for 50 years (at Green Park)
2013 - the modern tube - the network as it is today (at Stratford)
2020 - the future view - at the tube will look in 2020 (at King's Cross)

The blue line marks the path of our first spring walk. We were on the road from 12:15 p.m until 7 p.m. Stops were made for picture taking (but not enough), Salvation Army, beer break(s), potty break(s), coffee break, and a few groceries just before home.

The pool deck of the ultra hip W hotel here in Dallas seemed like a cool place to capture the skyline. I musta looked a bit lost and out of place as the 3 or 4 security guards stopped me on the way to what I thought was the pool deck. Lucky for me, they let me up there anyway....as long as I didn't take any interior shots. If you're ever in Dallas, its definitely worth a visit there. Its like south beach chic in the middle of Texas. I warn you though, its worth dressing to fit in!
By the way, the processing really exagerated the clouds in this image. I don't remember it looking quite this crazy. Here, it kinda looks like Dallas is about to be swept off the map!
Intruder Alert, Dive, Dive, Dive.
When we went to the boat the other day three map turtles were using a swim platform as a basking spot.
Once the saw me the scrambled to get into the water.
One is already in an the other two are in a hurry.
I like the way the head of the turtle on the left is in focus and the rest of the turtles is blurred with motion.
Look at how big the back foot of the top turtle is. And those claws would hurt if you got too close.
