In Mid May, 11 of us paddled canoes and kayaks along the shores of the Owyhee reservoir to map invasive tamarisk on its shores, and back up into the Honeycombs Wilderness Study Area. Fantastic, long days mixing paddling and hiking, all rewarded with spectacular views of landscapes made all the more scenic with addition of mist and clouds. Unfortunately tamarisk was widespread on essentially every flat plain on the reservoir and extended up into the Wilderness Study area as well.

Here are various responses I created as part of a 'mapping' project. I manipulated images I had taken whilst in Pisa and Florence on Photoshop and through collage. I experimented with different materials such as tracing paper and luggage tags and used fold and stitch to create interesting outcomes. For the Photoshop piece I was particularly influenced by artist Jack Lloyd.
