A bleak afternoon wasn't really conducive to landscape photography but a little long exposure and a polarising filter made the best of the situation.
The exact purpose of the tower on this house is unknown. However, because Blyth Street is at one of the highest points in Mapperley, the view south east over Thorneywood towards the city must have been, and still will be, tremendous.

With no work for me during my split on 17th February 2021, I settled down for a boring day of waiting around before my afternoon stint, and took a wander around the Garage to see what was in.
915 is particularly important to me as a busman, as the first NCT bus I drove at Langar Aerodrome, and the bus in which I passed my test on 17th December 2020 after a nail-biting drive around Netherfield, Mapperley, Sherwood and the Nottingham Ring Road which saw me pass first time with only a minimal number of 'minors'.

Just about as unclassic a "Nutty" pose as you can get!! A total miss-shot but I quite like the end result.

Now that there are a lot more biogas routes and no spares ordered this year (as of yet), diesel spares are becoming more common on biogas routes. 601 is an example, seen here on Sky Blue 45 to Gedling via Mapperley.

Mapperley Gate Junction was on the mineral line between Stanton Gate and the Shipley Colliery . I really do not know much about the place but I took the picture back in 1984 on a frosty winter's day early in the year, most probably in the January .

This former lodge is in a sorry state, which is a shame in view of its architectural style etc. It was once a gatehouse/lodge as part of the Mapperley Hospital site. (GT Hine was the son of TC Hine, and designed Mapperley hospital and several other similar establishments.)
The church was built as a daughter church to St. Ann's Church, Nottingham between 1869 and 1871 by William Knight, and extended by S. R. Stevenson in 1884.
Its website says it is an outreach centre for the poor in Nottingham and has specific concerns with duty of care to the prostitutes as they work not far from the church. I know round the back of the church, there are some really nice False Acacias.
The adress is 1 Chestnut Grove, NG3, and it sits right on the brow of Mansfield road with views right across the city, to the left is Mapperley park, further down the hill is St. Annes, with the boundary adjacent to the city centre and across the road going down the Hill is a cemetery and then the Forest recreation ground, famous for hosting the GOOSE FAIR.
The Forest recreation Ground is a Victorian park with promenades with a section designated for a childrens adventure playground too. The Nottingham Tram system stops at the Forest ground on the other side to where this picture was taken.
